Does any one think im mad, but im from Northern Ireland and i get my fees at £3465 a year at the University of Ulster and Queens, yet im applying to Aberdeen for £9000

is this wise:confused:

I have an idea, although it might be a bit silly. I've heard that anyone born on the Island of Ireland is eligeble for a an Irish citizenship. And everyone with an Irish citizenship (or any other non-British EU citizenship) is eligeble for a free tuition in Scotland. So therefore if you can get the Irish citizenship, you won't have to pay anything.

I have an Irish passport, but i doubt it would work because i think u need to have residence in the republic of Ireland :frown:

Yeah, I think its based on where you've lived for the past three years, not nationality

Here are the requirments:

You are an EU national (other than a person who is a United Kingdom national who has not utilised a right of residence), an EU overseas territories national or the family member of either.
You have been ordinarily resident in the EU, the EU overseas territories, elsewhere in the EEA or Switzerland for the three years immediately before the first day of the first academic year of your course (the relevant date). For the majority of students who start a course in the Autumn term, the 'relevant date' is 1 August.
You are taking a course of full-time study in Scotland and plan to graduate in Scotland.
You do not already have a degree for which you received support from your home country or another EU member state

Well it says you have to be EU national other than UK, you don't actually have to live in EU outside of UK.

Why? Because UK is not in EU? I think that If that bit applied only to non-UK EU people, it would say so...

Hi, it is the study of hand pressed books 1450-1850, so after handwritten manuscripts and before the use of the mechanised press. I concentrate on Scottish chapbooks (small pamphlets that contained religious texts, ballads, gossip) which catered to those who could not afford books or newspapers (or had access to them). I am studying for my PhD now and plan to become a lecturer or work as a rare book specialist in an auction house/museum/gallery.

There didn't seem to be a thread for applicants to the University of Aberdeen yet, so I thought I would make one so we could all discuss our application!!

What course are you applying for?
What Grades do you need?
What Grades do you have?
Did you attend the open day?

I'm applying for joint honours management studies with politics!!! The course requires BBBB, and I have ABBBC, so I am hoping for a nice easy conditional, possibly an unconditional??? I missed the open day, but I am hoping that if I receive an offer there will be post-application open days??

Anyway, chat away!!! This thread can be used to dicuss our offers soon enough, and wait in anticipation after we send off our UCAS!!!

Hey, i'm not sure if anyone's already answered this but there's an applicants day which should be around the start of march (at least it was this year) that's pretty much like an open day

Looks like Aberdeen is going to be my firm choice after I got informed that I could be a coach of uni women basketball team. It would be a great opportunity for me to improve as a basketball coach.
