Being physically attractive is a good thing!

What if you're not hot to ANYONE?

Highly unlikely.

Bull****. You would rather have a playboy model WITH the shedload of personality.

Not really. Having the general public constantly undress my girlfriend with their eyes every time we leave the house?
Been there, done that, almost went on a genocidal rampage. Needless to say, I'm not a big fan.

Plus there's nothing worse than having a girlfriend who realises she's generically beautiful, and then uses that to her advantage when trying to get stuff done her way.
I'm not typically jealous (despite the aforementioned genocidal rampage), I just hate women who think that they can use their looks to get by in the world. And for that reason I couldn't be with a playboy model.

But they would still be attractive.

I'm not attractive at all. At all.

Do you know what's unattractive?

Whining about how unattractive you are.
Original post by Carecup
People are actually naturally attracted to healthy people who have the best potential to produce strong and healthy offspring.

Of course being healthy can go hand in hand with attractiveness, but it doesn't in some cases.

How the **** do we know if someone's healthy?

Were attracted to good-looking people. end of.

Certain for someone like me.

But surely that means you picked out a top girl. And you're the top dude since you'll be the one shagging her that night.

Plus there's nothing worse than having a girlfriend who realises she's generically beautiful, and then uses that to her advantage when trying to get stuff done her way.

Many men succumb to the beauty of women. The men act as their personal slaves; they'd do anything for a hot girl.

Well I wouldn't be whining about it if I were actually beautiful.

I'm 15, but how can I stop caring about looks when it's the most important thing for a girl in order to get a guy?

Most important thing at your age? Unfortunately that's probably true. But trust me in the next 3 - 6 years things will change a lot. You're 15 and among, I suspect, a lot of relatively uneducated kids. With education, age and experience looks become less important as personality becomes more important. Sure, there are people at university age who are as superficial as ever but many more aren't superficial compared to your peers.

But without good looks, personality is nothing. It's to the extent that sometimes I think "what's the point in education when it's your appearance that matters the most?", "what's the point of life in itself when it's your appearance that matters the most?" etc.

This is because I know I can never be happy if I don't, you know, experience what it is like to be with a boy. It just will never happen. For me, life is not worth living. I'm only here for the sake of it.

My Dad once told me that physically you only need to be so attracted to someone before it's pretty much irrelevant. Then personality takes over, and, believe me, from my experience it takes over in a BIG way. He was, and is, right. Personality makes up for a heck of a lot. I've met women who physically are distinctly average but when it comes to personality they are many times more attractive than so called 'stunners'. If it was a toss up between the two I would go for the former every single time. Looks are necessary, but that is not the same thing as being the most important. You'll soon learn that education matters a lot. In fact, I know that you're attracted to educated people so don't try that. In the long run it depends on those who surround you. In years to come those people will change, you won't be 'socialising' with the same people, you'll be socialising with people more like yourself. These preconceptions you have are based on people I doubt you even like in the first place so what do their opinions matter?

There will always be someone, but I'm sorry, with that attitude you're not going to get anywhere fast.

Words can't even begin to describe how many things are wrong with this report.

So basically it's just a bunch of women whining on about how it's not right that people are worried about their bodies etc. Well no, it is right.

We have far too many chubby people in this country who have no sense of class or style. It's important that we do everything we can to reduce this, not just for health reasons but because good-looking people generally have better lives than ugly people.

Good looking guys get girls. Good looking girls get guys. This is because guys like femininity and girls like masculinity. These are biological facts.

Yet we now have this brigade of idiots who go round telling people that things like education and ambition are more important, and that appearance doesn't matter. Of course, education is important and it's important that people aspire to be successful.

However, telling kids appearance doesn't matter is flat out lying.
If I had the choice between a size 8 beauty who was unemployed, and a size 24 whale who worked as a doctor, which am I going to choose. The size 8 beauty, of course. It's all very well having brains but nobody wants to be seen walking down the street with a whale.

To put it bluntly, anyone who has ever been to Paris (or Madrid, or Rome etc) will have observed just how much more healthy and stylish both men and women are over there. Compare that to the stream of lazy, piggish people you see walking around British cities.

Some of the report's other recommendations are so moronic they actually make me want to scream.

- More than 95% of people on diets regain the weight they lose
Woah, this rubbish is actually in a government report? Everybody has a diet. Your diet is what you eat. Advice to people: if you are overweight, get down the gym and eat less. That's all. If you can't be bothered, get liposuction. You don't need government reports telling you what to do.

- The need for mandatory body image and self-esteem lessons for children at primary and secondary school
How about teaching them to read and write?

- Requiring advertisers to run long-term campaigns that reflect consumer desire for "authenticity and diversity"
No, when I open up a magazine, I want to see normal women in the size 8-12 range. I don't want to see airbrushed anorexic zombies, nor do I want to see whales. Stop encouraging these perverse body images and tell people that they should be a sensible weight.

-Introducing screening for potential cosmetic surgery patients
Most cosmetic surgery is justified. Men like breasts, not puffy nipples. Stop discouraging women from making themselves look hot. Plus, this is damaging to the cosmetic surgery industry, so the economy gets into an even worse state.

-The possible amending of the Equality Act to include appearance-related discrimination
So now they want to take my freedom of speech away? If someone is fat, I'll tell them they're fat. Being fat is unhealthy and bad for the overall image of our society, and it's important that fat people lose weight.

"Good looking guys get girls. Good looking girls get guys. This is because guys like femininity and girls like masculinity. These are biological facts."

No. Completely socialised.

Back in the day, being really fat was seen as attractive, as it was a sign of wealth (e.g. Henry the 8th).

Also, if it was a fact, why do "whales" get boyfriends and girlfriends? Surely it would never happen? Some people don't care. Some even find it more attractive. Attitudes are completely fabricated. There is no biological attitude towards weight and attractiveness.

Ugly face? Body?

Help me to help you.

Which would explain why you never put any photos on here
But no, it's not.

But surely that means you picked out a top girl. And you're the top dude since you'll be the one shagging her that night.

I'll sum up her personality and some of her actions briefly:
She was a compulsive liar.
She'd had 3 abortions at the age of 17 (the third one when she was with me, and she neglected to tell me about it. To this day I still don't know whether the kid was mine or not).
She "cheated" on me during our courting phase. Now whilst I realise that during the courting phase you're not exclusive to anyone, I'd argue that you're morally obligated to not shag anyone during this period. She too realised this, and apologised. If only she'd realised that sooner. Bitch.
Uhh, let's see... she cheated on me right in front of me.
She thought that kissing "wasn't cheating".
She couldn't handle her alcohol yet got ridiculously drunk almost ritualistically, which led to some very unpleasant conversations.
She openly admitted that, when she was getting dressed one day, the reason she'd just put glitter on her tits was so that they'd be more noticeable. She was an E cup, they didn't need to be more noticeable.

As for being the "top dude", I've never cared for what other people, parents and certain friends aside, think of me.

Whilst I realise that those personality traits and actions aren't exclusive to hot girls, nor are they the traits and actions of every hot girl, if she wasn't getting as much male attention as she was then half of that **** wouldn't have happened.

Many men succumb to the beauty of women. The men act as their personal slaves; they'd do anything for a hot girl.

I realise that, but I'm not sure what to blame; the flat out stupidity of men who are lead by their cocks, or the manipulative nature that some women possess.

But you need to be attractive to get by in the world.

Not necessarily. Being aesthetically pleasing won't automatically get you a job, nor will it pay the bills or keep food on the table. Regardless of looks, you still have to work in order to get the money needed to gain what you want to achieve. Such is the nature of capitalism. "Being hot" simply doesn't come into it in that respect.

"Hello, I like all this inane drivel, my highest qualification is a C at GCSE and I'm totally hot. Can I have this research position in quantum physics?"

Try that with any number of things and it won't work. A man may be able to put up with it for a bit but sooner or later he'll get bored.

If you decide not to listen then I guess I'll go and talk to a brick wall. I'll get more sense out of it.

But you had good sex though? That's what matters - doesn't it?

As for being the "top dude", I've never cared for what other people, parents and certain friends aside, think of me.

What about your "lads"?

I realise that, but I'm not sure what to blame; the flat out stupidity of men who are lead by their cocks, or the manipulative nature that some women possess.

It's my fault. I'm just simply not good enough attractive-wise.

I'm listening. It's just so hard living life when you think people think that you are so ugly.

You know I can't get off to this unless you describe yourself in great detail from head to toe. Go.
Original post by im so academic

I'm in my 20s, you're not. It is not anywhere near as true as it was when I was your age. If you think your misinformed opinion is better evidence than my real life experience then believe it. I've got 7 years on you, I think we can agree I've got experience on my side.

But a man will ALWAYS choose a stunner with a great personality over me.

Doesn't exist. I don't think I know a single stunner with a great personality. If it does exist they're very rare so a negligible anomaly. You'll just be compared to the rest of the population who generally speaking have one, the other or neither of those two traits.

I would never, ever, ever mention how I feel about this in public. Never. Why am I going to make it worse for myself?

I was talking more about how your attitudes colour how you act. You've got some incredibly negative and unrealistic views on this topic and until you change them you're unlikely to meet someone who will be interested in you in return.

You said to get by in life. I just responded to that. Attractive guys tend to be very overrated. I'd like to hit most 'attractive' guys with a shovel.

I'm listening. It's just so hard living life when you think people think that you are so ugly.

If you think you can do nothing about it concentrate on other factors to make up for it. Your personality and interests are good places to start. I've met great people at societies at uni. Experience new things, find out if you enjoy them and if you do? Carry on and meet people with your interests. Sharing a passion can be very important.

Obviously not to him or he wouldn't be so bothered by it now, would he?

It's my fault. I'm just simply not good enough attractive-wise.

Oh, no, many men are stupid. As are many women. It's a matter of weeding those people out.

Easier to get a job if you're beautiful. If you're a woman.

I think we just disproved that.

Yes they do. MANY girls I know are stunners with a great personality.

If you were to see how I act normally, you would NEVER know I thought these views. Still, they're in my mind - all the time.

But I want a guy to be interested in me! That's the whole point.

ISA what if I told you nobody likes you because you're annoying and not because you're ugly.
