Either way, talk about the pot calling the kettle black. When you are no longer one of the top ten fattest countries, maybe you'll have a leg to stand on making for of other countries for having problems with obesity.

Well lets put this into context.

For the UK to fall out of the "Top 10" obesity levels would have to come down by 7%, if the USA dropped obesity levels by 7% it would still be the fattest country on the planet.

Doesn't seem like a pot and kettle situation to me.

Can I have a link to your stats? I've been to England and Wales and there is no difference at all in terms of what you observe, I saw just as many fat people, if not more, than I've seen in the dozen or so states I've been to.

My theory is that they drink a lot of tea, which stains their teeth dark brown.

Hmm definitely might add to it. Where do you live in the US/where do you go for uni?

Observation will only get you so far, if you lived in London you'd think black people are failry well represented in the UK but the fact is 70% of the black population of the UK live in London.

I would link what i was looking at yesterday but don't have time to retrace my steps, just google.

Just because you have been to a few places in a whole country doesn't give a accurate or reliable source of information. This is because not all places in the UK are the same, with the same age, with the same medical conditions etc. Also London isn't just the UK.

Another point is that USA has a much larger population and companies such as McDonalds etc are in fact USA culture which as expanded over seas. So your poor diets has crossed over, In which UK had made a world wide public campaign for McDonalds to change its ingredients and kids menu to provide a more English and healthier meal/s.

Also UK is one of the countries actively seems educating the public on healthy eating, gyms and exercise and getting kids involved, where as in USA its a simple gastro band at the age of 13 and your sorted for life. The USA have specialised hospitals to deal with fatties, which in the UK is not even being considered because we arnt that big.

Also older people in the UK are more likely to get Diabetes type 2 which medically people with it put on more weight so looking at people that age isnt a clear indicator either.
