hey!

I recommend this book:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Psychology-A2-Complete-Companion-Guide/dp/0748773444
for a good starting point, it has a good load of information thats essential for the exam

for something more advanced i.e. has more evaluative points etc, get this:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Psychology-A2-AQA-Jean-Marc-Lawton/dp/144412336X/ref=pd_sim_b20
i got it today and its fabulous!

Theres also this:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Psychology-A2-Level-AQA/dp/0007255047
which has a load of information in it also but i find it a bit waffly, but you might like it

Theres also the AQA endorsed book but I've never actually bought it, so i can't really comment on how good it is, but here's a link anyway
http://www.amazon.co.uk/AQA-Psychology-A2-Students-Book/dp/0748798250/ref=pd_sim_b4

hope this helps  xx

The AQA Endorsed book for A2 is actually awful, i saw it in school and my teacher even said its rubbish. For 16marks worth of AO2, it is AWFUL. Definately a no no!

And have you received your book? How is it? Is it heavy etc? :P I'm waiting for mine

Oh dear :frown: good job i didn't waste nearly 17 quid on one then  I really think they should endorse a book thats actually good!

And yeah i got it in the post today  its shorter than the complete companion book height wise but its more chunky, and they are about the same weight, ish. Its really good, it has some nice evaluative points and the layout is nice, bit more 'textbooky' than complete companion but hey ho  it has potential exam questions at the end of every topic too which is nice   x

How are you guys revising for these essays? I'm just trying to write model answers on possible questions and them try remember them?

Don't know what else to do!

Argh so wish I was doing PSYA3 instead of PSYA4 right now. Then I could revise with you guys -_-. Instead I'm lonely on the PSYA4 thread....talking to myself!

Yeah I'm literally learning as much as I can learn AO1-wise and then making mindmappy things for the evaluative points/AO2/3, and then making a model answer which I'm going to try to remember but i'm not too confident :frown: I did a 24 marker on SLT and gave it into my teacher and got 18, which he said was about A grade, but I needed to go further with my evaluative points, like tying every point i make back into how it impacted the theory or made it more/less valid/reliable (which admittedly i thought i was doing, but apparently not in enough detail :roll eyes: )

Annoyingly yes :-( Apparently our teacher thinks that PSYA4 is slightly easier as not all the questions are worth 25 marks etc. They're instead broken down in to questions worth 6 marks, 15 marks and 4 mark for example. So going form PSYA2 it's easier to go to PSYA4.....................

It's annoying though as I love to use TSR as a 'revision resource'!!!

I'm certain my sixth form is completely crazy. Both my psychology teachers are "not so good" so I always end up teaching myself everything anyway -_- If I could have my own way I would be doing PSYA3 in Jan! Lol

Dont worry mate - im doing this completely on my own without any teachers at all while working about 40 hours per week full time.

I got two A's in papers 1+2.

If I can do it - Trust me, you can do it without teachers too.

god I hope that new A2 psychology book we all ordered helps...I have need to finish making my model answers so I can start the revision side.

You guys ok to give me feedback on the answers if I post them here once they are done? Without me having any teachers to ask im having to use guess work on what is sufficient and what isnt!
