London Met is hotbed for illegal immigration

London Met is now not "trusted" to handle applications from foreign students amid fears they do not speak adequate English and have poor attendance rates at courses. This implies that many foreign students at the London Met are abusing their student visas and is therefore a hotbed for illegal immigration. This is not counted as part of the official immigration statistics as it assumes that those on student visas go back to their country of origin after studying.

Why is London Met now banned from taking foreign students? Why are the attendance rates for overseas students being monitored? Why are the students accepted not having an adequate ability to speak English?

Just close down London Met already. We don't need it and half of the student population comes from overseas which is disproportionately high in comparison with other, more reputable, universities in the UK.

Spoiler

You can probably be more qualified by not getting a degree at London Met University and get a foundation degree at any given tertiary College or sixthform.

A lot of people forget that it looks very good for, say, a Chinese person to have lived and studied in London when they return to China to find graduate jobs. Whether Met isn't a Russel group uni isn't the point.

Would you as an employer etc care if an English person had lived in Tehran for a year studying at a lower ranked local uni...
Some courses at London Met are accredited by professional bodies so it can't really be that bad. You can't always rely on league tables because they are just measuring a few factors which are probably always against them given that most of the student population come from disadvantaged backgrounds.

I don't see the LSE being banned from taking more foreign students. I'd imagine because it is a highly reputable university they ensure checks on their students and at least they would be able to speak English. In addition, they mention that two-thirds of students arrive from outside the UK. This does not necessarily mean they are not from the EU.
