Hey there! I've only just seen this because I've left TSR unchecked for so long! This is a personal question so you don't have to answer if you don't want, but you've mentioned about mental illnesses and I have mental health issues too, which is one of the main things holding me back from going to uni. I was just wondering whether you use the Disability and Dyslexia Support service at Sheffield? I'm definitely gonna need support for my health at uni, but I was wondering what your personal experiences of Sheffield's support are and whether it has helped you? At the department open day I'm definitely gonna check out the support because I seem to need a lot of it :')

Thank you in advance, you're so helpful and it's greatly appreciated ^.^

I've never used the Disability and Dyslexia Support Service (DDSS) as I don't have dyslexia or any physical condition which prevents me from being a 'normal' student. I have used the counselling service a couple of times and while it's very good, I am wary of it, as I see my mental health as a part of who I am and I ultimately don't want to get rid of it as I don't know what it's like not having depression and anxiety, which scares me. I'd definitely recommend it though.

If you haven't already, why don't you join our SEAS newcomers group? I'm a 4th year Chinese with Japanese student and am willing to help with any questions. We have a group chat which I can add you to

So I've got an offer from Sheffield to do German and Dutch. But I've recently started learning Korean and I'm not sure if there's a way I could incorporate all the languages? Or whether I'd have to give up one? Just wondered haha

If you end up with unrestricted credits, you could take Korean for Non Specialists with them, otherwise you'll either have to pay to take Korean through the Languages for All Scheme, or carry on self teaching.

Sheffield's Korea Soc is very active, so you'll be able to take part in their activities and tandems and meet Korean people to practise with
I wanted to do Korean studies so badly because I love korea but i ended up choosing law, although I hope I make lots of friends from the korean studies department! ( that way i can secretly learn korean too lol)

If you really wanted to do Korean studies, why on earth did you pick law?

Hey everyone, umm this might sound weird but I'm just going to go for it. bascially I'm at Sheffield Hallam not University of Sheffield and I know this thread is really old but I recently started learning Korean and think that it would be awesome to get to know some other people in the city.
