Oh, thanks
Haha, I don't hate you for saying it at all, it's true! I'm still thinking about it, really. I'm gonna go ahead with my application for fine art at the moment and see what happens, but if I don't get the offers I want I think I'll wait a year and make a decision as to which course I really want to do. I think I'd be fine on a fine art course that was pretty flexible in letting you do what you want to do. That's why I'm basically 100% sure I'm getting a rejection from the Slade, 'cause they're really fine-arty. I think my work's more illustrative in subject matter than it is in technique though, if you know what I mean. Like, I don't do
illustrations, but there's a bit of a narrative going on. I think I could fit on either course, provided they were both flexible.
I'm sort of thinking about Nottingham Trent now, though, since some of the work in their online student galleries actually
do look like illustrations. If they can get away with doing that, then I'm sure I'd be okay with what I do. I said before that I wouldn't accept an offer from them, but I'm going to be more open-minded when I go for my interview, I think. Then at least if I got an offer I'd have a choice in terms of whether I wait another year or not.
Ah, living by the sea must have been nice! Hopefully you
will get an offer from Brighton, 'cause I'm sure you'd like it
I kinda went around the Slade thinking "I don't want to like it, I don't want to like it", because I was sure I wouldn't get in so if I hated it I could apply somewhere else. It's really nice, though
It has an old, art-school feel about it, and the studios are pretty big. What did you think, or didn't you go?
