Quick trig question



how does the above =
tan2x = 1

Divide both sides by cos2x\cos 2x and you obtain tan2x=1\tan 2x = -1

edit: when division by cos2x\cos 2x isn't allowed, i.e. when cos2x=0,x=kπ+π2\cos2x = 0,x = k\pi+\frac{\pi}{2}, it is clear that tan2x=1\tan 2x = -1 and sin2x=cos2x\sin 2x = -\cos 2x
