Your logic is not consistent - the UK have a huge deficit against the EU, should we stop our free trade with the EU?!
No, because European countries are not dictatorships (nor geopolitical enemies); they do not steal patents; and free trade with them is not be entirely negative for the UK (as its flagship economic sector, banking, benefits a lot from it; it wouldn't get much from a free deal with China).
It should also be added that Switzerland has no diplomatic ambitions, China cannot really put them under pressure to get what they want or avoid sanctions.
China needs a lot of capital goods so let's get out out machine industry going and reap the rewards of a gigantic market which dwarfs anything the lousy EU could muster.

Haha look like the new Euro Brexit Minster David Davis disagreed with you.. China and USA top of the trade list...
China is going to be interesting, no doubt, the Britsih Government will be obliged to STFU about human rights and go easy on violations in Hong Kong as a condition to get trade deals with China.
The US will also be interesting since they most likely want Britain to take GM foods and really screw Britain over big time but with a winning smile.
Both countries will screw Britain over now we are out of the EU and only the 6th biggest economy because they know Britain is desperate and don't want to revert to WTO regulations.
Interesting to note the vast majority of EU's "Free" trade agreements are with Latin America and North Africa (a beacon of troubled economies and slow growth) which has a closer historical relationship with EU's Mediterranean countries And the Service Sector (UK's biggest sector) is out of these "Free" Trade agreements, so effectively the EU have not been negotiating in the UK's global interests.
Now that we out, can negotiate and put our interests first.
