i feel "ok" ish. Im hoping I can get a lot more solid revision done prior to the exam as I have about 2 weeks off work before it and will be doing hardcore revision then everyday until the exam.
7 days later I have a major operation on my knee then for a footy injury so will have plenty of time to relax and sit back until results day lol.

Man, to be honest im kind of looking forward to it all being over and done with?

how do you feel about it?

oh ok i was confusing the 90% average with the ums marks. But I did tally up my marks in total including the 85 for psya4 and the total comes to 318 which if im correct is a B....

I mean you need 87 sorry

You need an a overall

Doesn't matter whether its at as

Theoretically you can get a c at as and still get an a*

Ignore the other guy

ok your explanation does sound a lot more true. Thank you very much. By the way what are the grade boundaries for each grade? Like for instance when i tally my AS marks for both units how would I know what the overall grade is, is there some sort of table you could direct me to that highlights the grade boundaries?

Right now I feel okay and I'm sure I'll be ready by the time the exam comes. We still have a little while to go.

Research Methods is a breeze imo but I need to go over Media again. & again. Yes, study leave starts on June 1st so I have the same, 2 weeks. Ooh, well, I'd say lucky you about relaxing but definitely not about the major op! ><

Oh yes, same. Just want it all to be over now. It's been too long.

What's the best way to structure a 24 mark essay?

A01 - Outline theory/idea
A02 - Research supporting/criticising
A02 - IDAs if needed (not necessary though)
A03 - Any methodology issues

Repeat for every idea/theory you have learnt.

Thankyou I've just purchased that book  i get you yeah  my a02 is normally where I drop marks so that really helps structuring it like that ! I appreciate the help

Oh did you purchase that book before i mentioned it  :

yeah the structure is thiss in terms of the assessment objectives..

a01
a01
a02
a02
a03
a03

rememeber in the a02 part where you put in a study to support the theory, at the end you need synopticity. to criticise the study..so use the GRENADES thing

G
Reductionism
E
Nature/nurture
A
Determistic
Ethical
S

fuk knows wat the others stand for lol
but yeah u just say 'this study is unethical, because the students did not give informed consent' bla di bla...

if u need anymore help just say.

sat at home revising media today

been doing some research and I have a prediction as to what may come up.
Two stars mean very likely, one is likely:

explanations of media influences on anti social behaviour**

positive effects of video games*

negative effects of video games*

application of the hovland-yale model*

The attraction of celebrity**

celebrity worship*

what do people think?

i hate the fact that it's not set out as an essay question..and itsa bit and bats..

its making me confused as to wots gonna come up!

but yeah me thinks its gonna be
intense fandom
celebrity worship
antisocial behaviour

Whats predictions for schizophrenia?

You do know about it, it's just what the examiners call it.

It stands for Issues, Debates and Approaches. So everything from reductionism, determinism, culture bias, ethical issues to the 5 approaches to psychopathology (behavioural, evolutionary, cognitive, psychodynamic, and biological).

Oooh right.
Well yeah as i was saying to the other guy, you just use like 1 of that after the study you use.
Examiner said you only need to use 2 in each essays..

Another question i got is..
You know cos like its’ 24marks now...does that mean some of the info in the book is not needed in the essay, and you can just kinda ‘ignore’ it.?

Haha, i think i remember you from before.
It’s me hogwartz

Hello Hogwartz

In the old specification, the questions in section A were worth 25, now they are worth 24. I would say you still need the same amount of information as 1 less mark probably isn't enough to 'forget' some information.

But yes a little less would be acceptable.
Hi guys, can you lot help me with this please?

Which study would you/are you lot going to use to support the following (outline the study as well, so I can use them in my essays). Because i’m confused as to which one I should use. Thanks

Schizophrenia
Classification+diagnosis> reliability> which study do i use for this?
Classification+diagnosis>validity> which study do i use for this?

Biological explanations>Genetics factors> which study do i use for this?
Biological explanations>Dopamine hypothesis> which study do i use for this?

Psychological explanations>Psychological theories> which study do i use for this?
Psychological explanations>Socio-cultural factors> which study do i use for this?

Biological therapies>Antipsychotics> which study do i use for this?
Biological therapies>Electroconvulsive therapy> which study do i use for this?

Psychological therapies> Psychodynamic therapy
>which study do i use for this?

No thats attraction fo celebrity.

Celebrity worship is part in Intense Fandom.
it would only make 12markss..
here are some of the things you may include.

-Measuring celebrity worship
-how common is celebrity worship
-celebrity worship and developmental problems
-Giles (2000) para social bereavement.
-benefits of celebrity worship
-negative consequences of celerbity worship
-evolutionary explanation of celerbity worship

the other part of the argument is 'Stalking'.
if u want to me to elaborate on that, just say
