Hey, has anyone else holding a Glasgow offer not sorted out accommodation? Im too late to arrange halls and unfortunately my flat placement has just fallen through 😅 Ty
Hey, just wondering if there is any current vet students from Bristol on here? I'm just looking at accommodation and would love to have a vet med students opinion. I'm currently considering Hiatt Baker, Orchard Heights, New Bridewell and The Courtrooms, thanks!!

Go on the FB Fresher group and ask, there are loads of current students on there.
What are some good back-ups for vet med? Genuinely don't think I've got the grades (thanks, physics exam writers....) and I'm starting to panic, especially as my college closed this year so I cannot resit any A Level modules (without moving to another HE college and starting the two years over & paying a ****load!!). Would need to be something that's less than AAB (Vet offer & genetics offer).

If you really want to be a vet, take a year out, find somewhere to retake the exams and then reapply. You don't need to restart a levels from the beginning, you have funding for 3 years of higher education, so chill! It won't cost a **** tonne

Unfortunately with centres moving to the new A Level specs I will. And because I missed my first year of A Levels, I have to pay to sit them now, as I will be 20 when taking them. So if I really did mess up this year, that's it!
Were they meant to be bringing in post-grad loans, or is that down the pan now?

Damn, I'm sorry to hear that. You can still self study and do the exams at centres as an external student, much like how home school kids do exams. That's another way of doing it. Hard yes, but doable (I self taught my AS's from scratch)

Hey scitty ☺️ Afraid I don't have anything constructive to offer regards to alternative careers except to consider vet nursing (although it is entirely different) and look into further 'specialisation' certainly during my WEX I only see vet nurses in a SA practice environment but they're are other opportunities such as scrub nurses etc. at SA hospitals And I know it doesn't help when people say you'll be fine or tell you not to panic so I'll just say you're definitely not the only one feeling anxious about results or is convinced that they've missed their offer, because it's a very real concern for me and for many others I'm sure too, not sure if this helps any but we can't do anything else now but prepare for results day 😕
**ATTENTION** So it's a few more weeks before offers come out but I'm just mentioning the Nottingham gym memberships for Notts offer holders. Our gym membership has been upped by about 47% because of improvements to the gym on main campus. However, barely anyone from SB uses that gym so naturally were a bit p*ssed off! When your offers come in you'll be able to buy a membership but please please hold off! The SB student guild are trying to lower the price and we need solidarity to have a good argument. So please wait!
Current first year (new 2nd yrs?)- How did you find the workload when you started and did you feel you had time for societies and sports etc.? Also did you go to AVS weekends in your first year?

I found there was a big workload but it's manageable. The thing is it varies from person to person so I can't really tell you how you'll find it. But yeah Me and a lot of friends have had time to join societies. I'm in orchestra and do yoga and go to the gym, plus I go to work every third weekend so it's not that bad (although I'm really sad and sometimes take revision with me to work in case we're quiet lmao) I didn't go to avs weekend last year but I wish I had! I'm definitely going this year I did go to avs congress in February though, that was fun too but because I was a first year some of the lectures went over my head a bit

Hey guys, I hope you don't mind I'm actually only applying to vet med this coming October, but I saw that you all have gotten amazing offers (congrats!! ) and was hoping to get some advice!
I would be so grateful for any sort of advice, especially to do with work experience as I am an international student and have had trouble trying to find WE opportunities! I only have experience in a SA clinic, would this be a deal-breaker for most unis?
i would recommend getting work on farms - all units really appreciate WE with large animals
