If you're not happy with your accomodation offer and you do want to stay in the uni halls then accept the offer anyway and ring up each morning and 9am and try to change to somewhere that you want. I did this last year, but you need to ring bang on 9am as the spare places go VERY quickly.

Hope this helps everyone

The other option on this is accept the halls, and then swap a couple of weeks into term. May mean you have to grin and bear the halls for a few weeks, but you're more likely to get a better choice

Also, for thoses concerned about the fact you've not got your halls confirmation yet, don't! If you're going in on an insurance choice, you should hear sometime next week or early part of the week after (speaking from experience), not sure about clearing, but I think you'll hear once clearing has finished and all academic places have been assigned, but if you've taken a place at Liverpool, book your accomodation now.

In terms of private halls, I'd suggest taking a trip into Liverpool and see what's about, that way you can book it there and then.

Finally, fear not, there's a surplus of student accomodation in Liverpool, so you'll find somewhere

I'd suggest something on Greenbank (Derby and Rathbone or Rosco and Gladstone), they've got a nice atmosphere, and all halls are mixed (or at least they were when I was there). In terms of loud, that depends on the people you share with, so there's no specific hall I'd recommend for that.

The halls are a 20 minute bus ride the Abercrombie Square (right round the corner from the English department).

Hope that helps, you'll love Liverpool

Thanks for your help

I was in Salisbury last year. It's fine  I never knew it was being redecorated over the summer though. That will be a nice change for you. I can't say it was particularly nice looking. I remember my expression when I opened my door on moving in day...oh lol :colondollar: Once you have all your stuff in, and some posters up, it can be homely though. I quite miss my room!

Any questions just ask.

Carnatic halls is amazing! I didn't want to be there at all when I moved in but the social life and eveyhing is great don't let the look put you off. I was readyto leave after my first day but glad I didn't I lord every minute of it and being catered encourages everyone to socialise from day one. I was in McNair n was good!

Hey I'm in McNair this year.. just wondered if you could explain how the numbers work?

Like, B011 - how does that work in terms of flat/room/floor etc?

Thanks!
I still can't believe i got a room at prospect point, i can't find a single other person that has apart from Gap Year students.

Liverpool did reserve more rooms later on though. I got an offer for liberty park a couple days ago which i had to reject. So you still have a chance of getting some on-campus places.

About two days ago, no email, just happened to look on the student web spider.
Offer for Lady Mountford Hous, catered. Despite the fact that I didn't apply there. Anybody know what it's like? Bit of a dump from what I gather.

Two of my friends from the foundation course I just did are going into medicine in September and theyre in Prospect too, they carried their app over though as they stayed there this year. Just though I'd let you know you wont be the only medic there. Enjoy

Anybody that hasnt heard ... have you checked on spider? I didnt get an email but my room offer was on there. I got Dale Hall ... my first choice. I went for that because i was told that as a first year student i wouldnt have priority for self-catered/en-suite rooms. Not a big deal for me ... im a bad cook and a guarenteed 2 meals a day is quite reassuring. Also in Dale Hall its 2 rooms to a bathroom so its not too bad and i shouldt have to wait for the bathroom. Im happy with what i got now just gotta pay my deposit and buy my bus pass ... anyone got the discount code for arriva yet? x
