I have an offer at Churchill and providing I meet the offer would start in October.
My question is slightly odd in its not academic, but how will University and college life be like for a Muslim? I'm not an "in your face" Muslim, I hardly ever mention my religion to people but the only things I want to know about is that I eat halal and don't drink alcohol, does the college cater for halal meat or would I have to eat veggie and cook meat for myself? This would't be too much of a problem but it would be nice to know before taking up residence there.
I'm a UK citizen with British nationality and everything and most of my friends are English atheists/Christians, but all my life I've had at least a few Muslim classmates so it would be weird for me not to have at least 1 person to relate to if that makes sense. Do any current students know (or are themselves) Muslims at the college right now? If anyone answers it would be much appreciated

Hey there! Atheist from an Asian Muslim family here (international student). Hoping to join in October too. The website mentions that the catering staff has options for kosher/halal food requiring students provided you speak to them in advance. re: https://www.chu.cam.ac.uk/internal/catering/menus/
I'll probably be able to relate to you as my family is pretty religious lol. Don't know how it is over there but back home, several Muslim friends join us on nights out but don't drink.
I know Churchill is strong in sciences but I want to apply here/King's for HSPS...how do art students fare up?
hey! I'm applying for Philosophy. Arts students tend to make up 30% of the college population, and in terms of experience it makes no difference; its not Dominated' by sciences just has a history of speciality (also the adm stats for Chufchill humanities seem to be a lot better than other colleges because of it, which doesn't hurt)

also the fact its one of cambridge's largest colleges means 30% is quite a lot relative to elsewhere
I'm travelling down from Yorkshire on the 6th and staying overnight for my interview on the 7th at Churchill College. Was wondering if anyone else is staying over that night for interview too just so I'm not lonely
