Standard Grade Biology 2012 !

Hey there  Hows it going ?
Thought id start a thread on the SG Biology Exam soon.

How are you all studying ? What books you using ? Any tips you'd like to share ?

I personally find ps more challenging than ku, any ideas on how to overcome it ?

I plan to take it as higher, who else is?

Please do post on this thread before and after, Im fairly new and wanna get to know everyone.

I've not started studying for biology yet either. I have chemistry on Monday and then a nine day break, so I'll study then. For my prelims I used the BrightRed revision book and I think it is really good. I am slightly better at KU than PS but there is not much difference. The only PS questions I hate are the ones about variables and controls. I plan on taking biology as a higher too.
i just do lots and lots of past papers to revise! i'm really sad because i can't take it at higher, wish i could :frown:

I'm taking higher human biology next year hopefully!

I've not started revision but I plan on doing 18 hours of it after chemistry (2hrs a day until the exam).

I'm the same as most people here. The KU I find easier but the PS is harder. I also need to go over the world of plants topic as we rushed through it at the end of the year and I don't pick up too much detail. Animal survival I also need to go over as it was the first topic we'd done and it's a distant memory.

Other than that I'm relatively happy and I am hoping all goes well!

In response to your question of any tips we'd like to share there is a great website called oronsay biology (google it). It comes up as a bed and breakfast as the teacher who puts the notes up owns it..

It covers all aspects of the course in great but simple detail.

I highly recommend you check it out:smile:!

They will be sure to put in things they have not asked in a while like structure of a leaf, for example. Nobody knows for certain though.

I'm feeling fairly confident about Wednesday, it's just fitting History revision around Biology revision which is proving difficult. And yes I am taking it at Higher

Why on earth have you been negged?! :lolwut:

No idea, some people just make me

Good plan, I'm gonna do some History tomorrow, and then have an intensive revision day on Thursday. Any ideas about which questions may come up on Friday?

Hiya.

Biology is my second last exam (history- woo :nothing: ) but I have German first. That's on Tuesday.

I've just been doing past papers/going over notes and using bitesize and oransay.

Fraid I can't help you with the ku/ps thing because I'm one of the weird people who tend to get equal marks in both.

I'm also taking it next year (hopefully higher human bio- depends what the class votes for!).

Why did you get negged for that? I'll try even that up when I have some rep. (assuming I'm not PRSOM for you- I've seen you often enough in the past month or so! )

You're doing better than me. I've done zilch today. :ninja:

Thanks. What units are you doing? I'm doing Scotland and Britian 1830-1930, International co-operation and conflict 1890s to 1920s and Germany 1918- 1945.

Sorry- it stands for Please Rate Some Other Member. It's what comes up if you try to give someone rep that you've given to recently. :colondollar:
