I know a few people studying at CEU this year. They love it. Teaching is much more tailored to you as an Individual ( I have heard they come out with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery) not a Bachelor as per the UK.
Their degree is recognised in the Staltes DDS. however you still need to sit state boards etc in the US.
The students in Spain are settling in and having a lovely time, They enjoy the beaches, clubs, night life and weather. It is only a little over two hours to fly home.
There are around 30 UK students there at the moment and
I have heard that 600 have applied this year for 50 places. My best friends brother is there that is how I know!
The uni is modern and well equipped. The only drawback is if you are seriously considering moving there brush up on your Spanish, it is needed. Also the Uni is about 20 mins away from the city centre but it is well connected with Metro link. Living is much cheaper out there and really really nice compared to UK student digs. He said that they are a little disorganised though and they find that really frustrating sometimes.
But they are in general embracing a new culture, made loads of friends and it is very safe. Girls can walk out at 3 or 4 am in Moncada and it is safe. Hope that helps. They may have an open day in April. If anyone is thinking of going here go to the open day and chat with current students. Also m n d are out to make a lot of money. However, they are throwing you a life line in that if you do not secure a place here, you may get one over there but be warned...it is just as competitive
and the standards are high. Exams are hard and ongoing. I know two dentists here who prefer Spanish trained dentists over English because they have said the standard of their work is FAR superior to Uk students. My friends brother and his family did a lot of research on this uni before they took the place up, because like you said it is not cheap, but then hey...do you really want to be doing biomed for four years and incurring debt only to wish you were doing dentistry? Go to the open day and make your mind up then. The students will tell you the good and bad stuff I am sure. Good Luck
