I know there are a number of British accents such as RP, Cockney, Geordie and Scouse and sometimes foreigners assume British accents are just one big accent but there is great variety. While some find the RP accent most attractive i can honestly say i find something beautiful and attractive about all British accents. Ever since i watched my first British film/tv serial i have been fascinated by British accents. I've never been to the UK but i hope to go this year for exchange. Sometimes i wish i had a British accent but overall i am happy with my Aussie accent. But I hope you're all aware of the power of your British accent. And with great power comes great responsibility. jk

I also find British girls very attractive. Not just female actors on tV and film but the girls i've met in real life here. My first crush on a girl was on a girl who was of British background and i could never get enough of her voice. Even if she read a phonebook endlessly i would listen attentively. The hot accent is just icing on the cake to their outgoing personality, beauty and charm. I do know Australian girls find British guys really good looking. They think of BBC period dramas and think of Mr Darcy type characters (particularly Colin Firth in the wet t-shirt scene). I don't blame them all guys have their own unique characteristics and this thread is not about comparison.

True, that's how I think of it, often mix between them in attempting to emulate one or t'other. Think SA sounds a bit more dorky though, not keen on the Germanic influence in Afrikaans either

Haha you're going to get a lot of puzzled responses from this! I personally don't find British people good-looking, very few people do (sorry!), I do find British guys very charming though, they usually have an easy-going attitude and a sense of humour. Keira Knightley and Colin Firth are veeeery far from the average English person. I too find Colin Firth attractive though, and the traditional English accent (Firth, Hugh Grant etc) is very attractive, IMO. The rest of them, not really. I am not British, so honestly, there are a lot of them I cannot understand.

I don't really like an Australian accent, but a South-African one (like Candice Swanepoel) is really lovely. It's like a mix between British and Australian, super cute.
