I think I get home at a similar time...quite looking forward to the day itself...but the travelling is going to be disgustingly drawn out I feel for you travelling through London...I despise that place with a passion rarely rivalled through the dredges of time :P
Wait wait wait...you've -controlled- a plane before despite never having been on a commercial one? Yeah; casual. Standard stuff really. Everyone goes flying now and again...
Why do people in general do so much more than I do ?
Yeah, same. I didn't go in the actual department before (I don't think) so it will be good to see that. I have a family friend at Bath so she's gonna help show me around I think and meet me at the train station and stuff so . She's not studying maths though.
I really can't wait for the Durham open day in March. Haven't seen my college before so it will be cool to see it and stay in it and stuff!
Yeah, cause you are considered a resident of St. Andrews. It's not too far from me. Only about and hour and a half away I think.
Other thing is that I applied for the BSc at St. Andrews and I know at Bath/Durham etc. switching between the BSc and MMath is pretty flexible but I don't know if that is the case at St. Andrews if I decide that I want to go down that route.
P.s. I'm sorry to hear that you didn't get in. You still got accepted by 4 other amazing uni's though!
Meh, I'm happy Warwick and Kings accepted me. But I would have liked St Andrews. It seems so secluded and dreamy, my kinda thing! KCL is for all purposes the exact opposite.

Yeah, it is lovely. Actually applied to go to boarding school there but never went because my family ended up moving back to the Uk. People always say to me that 'Oh there's nothing to do there unlike Edinburgh/Glasgow, you'll be sooo bored' but there is and tbh I don't think I really need all the distractions of city life! London would have been way to big for me, as much as I love the city I'm not sure if I would want to live there.
I'm going to Bath next Wednesday, I guess you are going too?
I have to get up at 5 (or even before that) to catch my flight (to London). Then I have to get the train from London to Bath. I live in the North of Scotland
I am I've not recieved a programme though, so have no idea where to go or what time to arrive! Would one of you possibly be able to upload the programme pretty please ?

Ah right, you must have so many friends! Yeah, I think I could handle KCL because of the great course and the career prospects it brings. I'm still mulling over Nottingham but I think it's out the window now tbh.

Quite a few I guess all over the world but only a few close friends where I live now. I think the only uni in London I seriously considered applying to was LSE but then they stopped doing a pure maths course there so I didn't apply. Also I heard that the maths department wasn't too fantastic compared to other unis... did think about Imperial but the large male:female ratio put me off a little bit and I got the impression that it was a real competitive environment, and I am a competitive person but I wouldn't want to be like that all the time or feel like I have to.

3pm onwards - Return to the Maths department for tea or coffee and time for questions and answers with some of our academics
The afternoon will draw to a close at approximately 4pm.
Can anyone really be confident in getting a 1 in STEP?
It's rare but there are a few such people out there...
In regards to the choice, have you taken any A2 FM exams in January? I ask because results day in March will help you to decide whether you think you're comfortably going to meet the A*A* component of either offer (you might be able to make a judgement on this without having sat any A2 FM exams too, possibly).
If this is the case, then you shouldn't need to worry about the grade requirements of either (presuming that at least a 2 in STEP is well within your grasp) and just choose the one you prefer.
yeh i was. i was in the green group. Ian Slaters one was bad for me because i haven't learnt the binomial expansion in C4 and couldn't remember it from C2.
I agree! I failed that question pretty badly! There were a host of other questions on that slide that I wanted to try but he managed to pick one which I hated. But I suppose that's what I'm meant to be doing - improving on my weaknesses.

Sadly I'm quite lazy when it comes to that.
That question is definitely tough first time round that's for sure
