Well you could choose which halls you wanted (standard or ensuite) and each hall is either catered or self catered so you had to know in advance which one

But no, there wasn't a separate option

Oh yeah. Thanks!

ah sorry i made a mistake - both are self catered

but yeah, i'm not sure whether west downs or queens is better? obviously queens is more expensive so maybe the rooms are better/location better but i'll be taking business management so would it be more of an advantage staying at west downs? Sooo confused haha

Well West Downs is right next to the business centre so that'd be handy for you haha

Saying that, I applied for West Downs and my lectures will be down next to Queen's Road halls so I suppose it's just personal preference

I just preferred the atmosphere at West Downs

Failing the letter, you can ring reception (01962 841515), they'll ask for your name, date of birth and address. When they've confirmed this they'll then ask for your email address, and they'll send it over for you  It takes about 5 minutes, if that, and it's done. Hope this helps.

Yes thanks but I found the letter also I have two offers and not to sure if I have to apply for accomadation on the two of them or just my firm choice  xxx

You only apply for accommodation on your firm choice I believe

I literally just write whatever comes to mind! I haven't had much time for it of lately seeing as I've got exams...looming over me. But I'm hoping to carry on with some short stories I've started beforehand. My last one, this will sound morbid I guess, was about the last man alive on earth and how he was coping with life. Or not. What about you?

Ahaha, well, I worried enough and got it changed, so now I'm hopefully in Queens Road - Self Catered - Moderately Quiet. Yipee!

Woo  exactly the same as me! At least you won't worry about it so much now

And haha, no that doesn't sound that morbid lol, sounds interesting! And it's really cool that you've aready started your own short story collection
I like short stories as well - wrote this children's horror story last year for school about this completely insane serial killer who owns a toy shop.... which I weirdly enjoyed writing XD my favourite type of writing at the moment though (even though this might change on the course!) is novel writing, as I want to be a children's author  used to write loads of starting chapters to books when I was younger, but with school and stuff I never managed to finish any of them :frown:
Yeah I totally know what you mean about the lack of time to write anything with exams and stuff - because of that I haven't written a lot in ages either :frown: sad times! So really looking forward to the course when we'll be writing things ALL the time.........oh yeah! And it'll also be good to try out different sorts of writing, like, I've never written plays before, so the script-writing should be interesting

For combined honours, you are given modules from one subject and modules from another. For example, if you studied history and politics, two of your modules will be from the politics course and the other two from history.

If you do a combined honours degree in history, such as medieval/modern/ancient,classical,medieval history then your degree modules will be more specialised to your subject area.

For presentations you might, it might change next year with the modules. I do full history and in my first year I have had to do two presentations, whereas a friend does combined honours and has only had to do one presentation for history this year due to not being on the same modules.

If you are worried about presentations it's nothing you should worry about. When I did my first one I was panicking, nervous, butterflies in my stomache before I was about to talk, thinking the worst would happen, but before I knew it it was over. I did my second presentation the other day and I felt a lot more confident for it, I was more confident in speaking and not as nervous as before.

The university help you settle into doing presentations by doing it in a large group in your first semester, smaller group in your second semester, both of which you will only speak for maybe 2 minutes. In your second year you will have to do a solo one, they are only about 8 minutes long. Everyone has to do it so you're not going to be worrying about it. There are workshops that help you on it also. Chances are, every other university will do presentations as part of their modules.

I hope that helped.

Ok, thank you so much for the help! It is greatly appreciated. I really want to get over this as it's the only thing that scares me so much. I am sure once i have done a few it will be ok. Thanks again!
Anyone Applying For Contempory Performance And Got In??xxx
I'm applying for Primary Education with an English specialism, however at the interview day they said you could change this and I'm hoping to change it for music. They said you didn't need an A level in the subject you're changing for, however, before they made this decision it asked for a B grade in your subject specialism (which was English) but I want to change this, do I still need that B? Anyone else taking this course?
anyone doing Politics and Global Studies?

I have applied for this course but with an Art Specialism, I have been given a conditional offer but it doesn't say I have to get a B in my specialism any longer it just says 'Obtain 300 UCAS tariff points to include a minimum of 2 passes at GCE A2 or equivalent. The points to be obtained' hope this helps
Has anyone got any pictures of the rooms in West Downs and Queens Road please?

Ahaha, not sure my teacher agreed with that when I submitted it but I'll just agree!
That sounds brilliant :') Oh right? That's cool then, but yeah, it really isn't that great not having much time to do anything with them! :frown:
Definitely cannot wait for this course, providing I get in D:
Same, I've never dabbled in that side of writing either!
