Aha. After 5 months of wait, I am finally rejected by Imperial. Expected, but I wished they had rejected me earlier to spare me the misery of waiting for one. =/

:frown: I rejected from math today
I have offer from computing but I dun know whether to firm this offer or not

I wanted to study math for finance and Computing was my insurance
not even sure that im interested in computing

should i give up my offer or just go for it?
and is there any possibility that i can transfer to math after first year in computing?

Go with what you think is right. You need to make sure you do a course you can see yourself doing. Besides, you can still go into finance with a computing degree. Quite a few people do it.

Really doubting Imperial. Their offer was just too high and it wouldn't be smart of me to put AAA at AH as a back up choice. Think I will be going to Loughborough for aero instead, even though their A-Level grade ranges are so different, I have been given high offers for both.

I was looking forward to living in London, but its just not worth the risk of missing the grades.

Aww, no - that means we'll lose a tsr aero classmate :frown:
You have to remember that Imperial gave you an offer that they think you're capable of :yep: But, I guess it's up to you and what you think you can achieve. Have you made a final decision yet?
I just got the results of my English IELTS test.
Offer requirement is;
A pass in the IELTS test with an overall band score of not less than 7.0, to
include 7.0 in all subtests.

And what did I get;
Listening 9.0 :banana:
Reading 9.0 :clap2:
Writing 6.5 :bricks:
Speaking 8.5
Band score being 8.5

Oh dear, I think I'll go stick my head in a bucket.

Nope, what are the advantages of choosing Imperial over UCL?
Applied for Chemistry Msci got an offer of AAA for Material Sciences - not sure whether to accept or stick with Southampton:confused:
Does Imperial do any undergrad exchanges with universities in the US? Or are they too specialised?

Yeah people can do a year abroad, if that's what you mean.

Yep, for subjects like biology the standard offer is 38 while for engineering and physics is much higher at like 41 or 42 i think.

yeah i got my offer for aeronautical engineering, 40 points in total with 7s in hl physics and maths.

but to be honest i really think its a lot, i mean the university is just very demanding, like cambridge and oxford.

have you finished your ib course ?
I have a question: With so much to do in a such a thriving city (bars, restaurants, museums, shopping, theatres, clubs, etc), why is there so much complaint on TSR about the social life at Imperial? What exactly is the main problem that many people have with the social life?

I'm finding it really hard to choose between Imperial and Durham. The main downsides for me are the cost and the gender ratio.

Definitely Southampton if your heart is set on Chemistry. Imperial has a massive reputation for science, but there is no point picking it if you don't really have an interest in materials science.
