I'm apply for next year, sept 10' (as an insurance) and i was wondering...

1) Is there an option for a placement year
2) Is it easy/not hard to get a job after graduation
3) are the lectures good?
4) I cant find FULL course details online, can anyone tell me the topics/modules?
5) Any girl do the course?
6) Overall reputation of the Uni.

I can only answer question number five to be honest... I'm a girl and I just got an offer from DMU today for forensic computing!! However, I can tell there won't be many girls...

Haha oh yeah! I'm also applying to Glasgow Caledonian, Edinburgh Napier & Manchester Met. I'm predicted A*AA but I think it is more likely to be A*BB... How about you?

I chose DMU because they do the forensic computing course whereas, what people may consider the higher ranked universities, only do computer science, etc. I knew a computer science degree wouldn't be for me and so went for forensic computing at the very few places I could do it in the country.

yeah so far its decent, very interesting stuff though i suck at maths and there is some binary, logic and boolean algebra if youre any good!

I failed to get into nottingham 2 years ago and as a last resort i got into DMU computer science.

Needless to say I hated it, probably just my year but the people I was working with had the typical stereotypical view of fat, nerdy, smelly and generally anti social, oh not to forget it was a cock fest aswell.
They all thought they could bloody outsmart the teacher and felt very proud in doing so, as a result I dropped out and now trying my luck again elsewhere.

i feel the same way about my course though there are a few girls on it, but the course itself is interesting enough to stay on it.

I'm expecting to be one of the few girls on the course but I'm really hoping that it isn't going to be the stereotypical type of guy like previously mentioned by someone else. Oh and I'm not your typical girl to be doing computing so the guy above may be wrong in saying "no models on computer science". Haha
