Got a letter saying I've been 'recommended for an offer' for maths.
AAB/AAC + AEA/2 in STEP
apparently they only send these letters to maths applicants, or at least here on tsr only maths applicants got them. i hope not receiving a letter (i'm not applying to do maths) isn't indicative of being rejected. but i'm getting slightly worried...

Yeah, I think you're probably right about them only sending them to maths applicants - and besides, they are coming out pretty slowly. I sent my application off on the 14th October, and only just received that letter, whereas someone who sent their UCAS off a day before me got the same letter 10 days earlier. Its still really really early days to start pondering about rejections, I suppose a massive number of applicants haven't even sent theirs off yet, let alone received acknowledgements!
Don't worry, you'll be fine!

I have one and i'm a Biochemistry applicant. They send them out for a lot of subjects apparently....maths does seems to be the most active department though.

i have applied for business administration, so i suppose you and i are in the same department (but i'm not suer of this) and i haven't heard anything from them either. it probably depends on the department. so far i have only heard of maths and science (biochemistry and natsci) applicants receiving these letters but i might be wrong.
