So, last year at the start of the year I went a tad mad on books unaware that I wouldn't be referring to them a lot, so now I want to get rid of a few.
Does anyone know of any reputable websites where I can sell books and gain a reasonable amount of profit back - apart from Ebay/Amazon?

Try your uni website or post boards in uni buildings - the wee firsties of '08 may buy them later this year

Do I have to notify someone at Uni that im doing this or can I just shove up notes around the Uni? . . .
Yea the lecturer's were on about some bookshop facility online, but I went on there and there is absolutely nothing on there - no1 has bothered to use it. lol

Yeah pretty sure, or just ask someone at the desk if you can put the notice up (people do it in the comp room in the law building) Just advertise it on a piece of A4 paper with tear off bits so they can contact you if they're interested

Uni would be the best bet, people doing the same course etc would be convenient.
Once I graduated, I sold all my books via Amazon marketplace. As they can be quite specialist theres a chance that there would only be a single bidder on Ebay and you wouldnt get much of a return. With Amazon you can set your own price and they tend to get snapped up eventually P&P prices you get from Amazon are low though so make sure you dont set the prices too low.
If you do put them online make sure its around freshers week, where everyone rushes into buying books that they'll never open
Yeah, sticking up lists is usually a good way. And I personally find amazon marketplace pretty good. As has been said, don't go for ebay. Books don't do well on there.

There were two books that I literally didn't open at all. I just bought them because it made me feel like a big man
LoL Same ere. (instead of big man, big woman lol)
I have 1 in particular which hasn't got a crease in and another 2 which have one crease in each book . Even my 2 main text books (Crim and Soc) don't have much creases in, however im keeping them as will need them a lot for 2nd and 3rd yr.

Does your campus have a bookshop? We have one and they normally sell student's books but you only get something for them if they do sell. They won't buy them off you.

Nah my Uni hasn't got a bookshop, only the library and they are quite rude in there.
I will just try and search for an Fresher in Sept to sell my book(s) to.
So guys, if you buy all these books that you "hardly/never use", what do you use?
University books! I use the one's I buy, but hardly use them - so basically they look brand new!
Also I just had an email back from a lady at Uni who I mentioned about my OU books and she wants them, but for free! I paid £525 to do the course back in 2006, I at least thought she would offer abit of £££ for them!
Don't quite know what to do . . .

Ok, so I offered the books to my Uni, and the lady from the HSC department wanted them for free, I said yes willing to give them away in exchange for a small fee, she has now said no, considering the books originally cost me £525!! . . .
