Something a bit more acoustic. Angus and Julia are soothing for the soul.

Indeed. I'd recommend anyone checking out Souvlaki, excellent album :yep:

Edit: By the way, your picture/avatar wouldn't happen to be the album cover to My Bloody Valentine's Loveless by any chance, would it? Saw in your 'about me' that you were into shoegaze as well

yep it is. I like shoegaze a lot. I go through phases where it's all I listen to. With Slowdive I keep changing my mind about whether I like Just for a day or souvlaki better. There's more filler on Souvlaki I feel (that or it's just less consistent than just for a day) but it does have when the sun hits and alison which are great.

EDIT: Have you heard any cocteau twins? They are awesome, I probably prefer them to Slowdive overall, although they are slightly different, as they focus more on ethereal melodies and dreaminess, whereas slowdive have a melancholic tinge to what they do. Heaven or Las Vegas and Victorialand are great to start with. The former is more upbeat, whereas the latter is so so chill (to emphasise this, the opening track is called lazy calm!)

No, I don't think I've heard Cocteau Twins before, but I'll definitely give them a listen over the weekend.

It's nice to finally see somebody else who likes shoegaze. None of my friends (bar one, who actually recommended Slowdive to me strangely enough) really understand it, which is a shame.

So cheers for the recommendation, if you've got any others I'm 'all ears'. If I remember to I'll let you know what I thought of Cocteau Twins

Nice choice :yep: - such a beautiful song. Possibly my favourite from The King of Limbs.

Is that the official video or just a home made one from youtube? Really adds something to the music.

It's a home made one from Youtube, I don't think an official one exists. Yeah, it is pretty awesome right? It's one of my favourites from that album too :h:
