I negged you because I do Make-Up Artistry at Swansea, and even though it's a complete waste of time, it's the degree I do and I'm stuck with it so I really get really hormonal when people slag it off even if they're slagging it off with good reason.

Also, your use of Italics pissed me off.

If you don't mind me asking, after your degree what job will you pursue?

Best subject: what you're doing
Worst subject: what everyone else is doing

Please note that the above will have a tendency to be biased, generalised, entirely subjective and therefore different from one person to the next. This thread stowed away on the Fail Boat.

Never got the point of this:

http://www.cas.sc.edu/socy/faculty/deflem/gaga.html

:ahee:

Unless you work at the Haus of Gaga..

'this is not a course in Lady Gaga but in sociology; and it is not a course about Lady Gaga as much as about the culture of the fame as exemplified by the career of Lady Gaga'

Just putting a typical sociology 'fame' module into context.

Generally most degrees that involve maths and science are the best ones.

Best: Trolling Studies at the University of TSR (h&r college)

BEST: Rocket Science with Neurological Medicine at the University of Mensa

WORST: Tomfoolery at the University of Nincompoop St. John

It was the "St. John" bit that clinched it for me
Totally depends on the purpose of your degree.

If you take a degree for academic fulfilment then any course with a large practical slant won't be very good.

If you take a degree for the career prospects alone then any course with few job opportunities won't be very good.

Weirdly, despite doing sociology myself, I really find stupid little courses/modules like the sociology of David Beckham or Lady Gaga to be really annoying.

Sociology is a pretty generic BA much like English or History in the sense that it doesn't really lead to any particular job, but I wish university professors would stop sullying the subject with pointless applied sociology, when they could be devoting modules to areas were sociological thought has a deep impact, like education, economics or politics.
One of the worst has to be: BSc Wastes Management and Dance

This is a real degree at the University of Northampton

There's no such degree, certainly not at that particular university, he's attempting to be humourous.

David Beckham Studies

That's a module, in a media degree at Solent, not a degree
