    Jazz scene?
Is there much of a jazz scene at Edinburgh?

I'd assume that there's plenty going on what with Edinburgh being cultural capital of the UK and so on... but it would be nice to hear some details from someone who's actually there!

    Cheers

Well I live here, if that's good enough. Jazz seems to be quite strong in Edinburgh. There are a small handful of specialist venues, of which Henry's Jazz Cellar is probably the most prominent. I'm not really big on Jazz so I'm not the best person to ask, but if I remember correctly then Henry's also does Dim Sum, a bit bizarre. The Queen's Hall and Usher Hall also both have bigger name Jazz artists and bands fairly frequently (Herbie Hancock last month!) and during the festival (August) you will find an insane amount of music, not just Jazz, a lot of which is free.

    Well...
Sounds great! Thanks for your reply, Mr/Ms Sausage - always nice to have a direction in mind when you turn up somewhere! Henry's Jazz Cellar a-google...
