Ok so I got my accomodation offer through just now, and was offered Callice Court - an accomodation which wasn't even put onto any of my five accomodation choices.

I rang them up and apparently, Callice Court is exactly the same as Raglan Hall which is why they put me in it, which is weird as I would've thought they'd offer me my second, third etc. whichever was available, but looking at it, it looks really nice, it is the same as Raglan and is opposite the library apparently, and very close to Raglan.

The only thing I'm worried about however is it isn't University owned, and not under any of the "Self-Catered" hall choices on the website, even though it is, so I don't want to be going somewhere where it's going to be full of second, third years etc.

Did anyone else get this, or does anyone know if it's only first years etc.

Hey, I used Unite to get into Callice Court and the site shows there's not only first years, there's some other years and postgrads as well. It's not Uni owned, but it only means that you have to pay for a gym membership. It's self catered as well.

Got an offer through for Calice today when my firm was also Rag. Shame I'm off to a different university through adjustment though otherswise would have been fun.

I havent been emailed yet but after reading this I suppose they will offer me a place in Callice Court too. My first choice was raglan but on Unite's site it says they're sold out so if they're not offering anymore places in Raglan then they've most likely sold out completely

I'm not too bothered though as all I really care about is having my own bathroom because i'm uber picky when it comes to hygiene and the likes :|

In answer to your question I suppose there will be alot of 1st years in Callice Court because of the popularity of Raglan this year (or every year so it seems) so it should all be good, i don't think they would bung a first year in with a load of 3rd years/post grads anyway, that would just be mean lol >.<

Ahh right, yeah theres more and more first years getting Callice Court now so it should be fine!

It does look really nice and its close to everything and apparently in the middle of everything the uni has so it's a decent position aswell so should be good

There are loads of first years in there; don't worry, they won't plonk you in with a load of old farts like me

I am pretty sure they put you in flats with your year rather than assigning them arbitrarily.

It's in a nice place; a hop, skip, and a jump from the library, and has easy access to all the faculties; what will you be studying?

Self catering with en suite, naturally. It's lovely and airy with different blocks and stuff. Nice quads actually.

Ahh I see lol, I wouldn't actually mind staying with some second/third years etc. come to think of it, just as long as there were a couple other first years in the same flat. :P

And now it's all sorted, I'm actually really glad I got it, it looks really nice, and being as it's practically the same as Raglan which is what I applied for, it should be good .

And I'm studying Journalism & Media and will be based in the Ellen Terry building which isn't too far from the library if I remember rightly?

hey, ive just been accepted at coventry uni and i think i might get callice court, ive checked the uni website but its not on the list of accomodation. anyone know where where i can get more info and pics of the accomodation?

Don't worry about not getting into Raglan.

Callice is mahoosive with a big range of people. It's a max 10 minutes walk to anywhere in the uni.

Also.....Raglan isn't all it's cracked up to be (it's exactly the same as Callice except Coventry University are in partnership with Unite at Raglan).

Problems with Raglan:
- It's in the red light area of Coventry and if you are male you will be offered services on a regular basis
- The reception/security facilities are not as high as Callice
- It's out of the way

Advantages to Raglan
- It's near Singer Hall where a lot of other students are.
- It's primarily first years.

Ahh cheers for that oliverp, I am actually starting to prefer Callice Court to Raglan now that I know a lot more first years are going in there as well as me.

And Kortnie, I sent my form thingy back to them on Tuesday but haven't heard back from them yet about where im staying and paying for the deposit But will post it up once I've heard something

Hey, the same thing happened to me, I'm going to be a first year and was really disappointed when I didn't get Raglan, but after looking at it, I think i prefer Callice to Raglan anyway! I've just sent my form off today and I'm so excited!

I got the stuff back from them, and it's all weird, they want me to reply by 30th with it all filled in, but my parents have to have witnesses and all this crap, wtf lol?

Also they want £1500 by Sept 5, yet on the Cov website it says the first accom. payment will be in November if you chose 3 payments.

Ahhh its all so confusing and stressful lol, but anyways my room is 2148 ROOM D which I really don't understand lol.
