Pretty simple, would it be cool to have a Subway sandwich after a workout? You know it has bread, maybe some meat and veg but cos it's kind of fast food would this make it bad? ....Note i said workout and not just exercise.
If this is ok, would anyone be kind enough to suggest a Subway sandwich suitable for such a time? For example, any special ingredients you may suggest? ..(I thought i'd add a little challenge too for the tsr's who specialise in the area of diets/workouts etc)...
Who cares about the workout. You need to workout that stomach of yours. Subway melt - Bacon, ham, turkey, melted cheese, Italian bread, toasted, with lettuce and mayo... footlong, with cookie and drink
We have 6 sandwiches that contain under 6g of fat, and several which have been deemed healthy for the heart because they are low in cholesterol, ask the unfortunate bastard behind the counter and they should know which.
Just don't have cheese and have a low fat sauce on it and its just as healthy as any other sandwich: bread, bit of turkey and salad nom nom nom.

Er, that would be healthy for you
You'd be happy to know there are 3-4 subways in Loughborough.
To be honest I do have fast food after a workout the odd time but if your going to subway just make sure you don't get meat balls, there very salty. Mark908 said if your bulking up then fast food would be the perfect choice

It wouldn't, but it's acceptable on the odd occasion.

Why not? If hes trying to bulk then eating energy rich food is what he needs. Its a damn sight easier to just go to subway then to go home and cook something exactly the same (give or take the bread part for potatoes). If he cares about a 'clean' bulk than maybe not so useful but not everyone has/can do that

1000 calories holy crap.
There are many people on here who eat 3-4,000 kcal a day (I think I saw someoen asking about 4500) so 1000 isnt exactly a bad thing!

It's not the perfect choice, that would be fast protein and simple carbs as PL said. If we're talking PWO meals (but why not just go home and spend two minutes whipping something up while sipping on your PWO shake?), it's still pretty poor. Most of the meat is processed and low in protein. And you'd probably need a foot long to get approaching enough carbs. It's expensive.
I never said there was anything wrong with it every now and again, it just isn't the perfect choice.
