Haha, you very quickly learn in Edinburgh to never wear heels... or be like me and hardly know they were invented. Living on cobbled streets is a pretty thing but not a pratical thing!

Yeah still primary, I've gone the full circle and ended up where I was 5 years ago.

I have received an email from one of the unis saying they have got my application and will let me know if I have an interview but no welcome letter from GTTR yet so I can't track it! Weird...

Exciting! I hope you get an interview

What's the welcome letter from GTTR?

Wow some of you are being keen beans!

Just as a heads-up I sent off my Primary PGCE application in September last year, but didn't hear anything for over a month as the uni I applied to doesn't bother looking at applications until they have a fair number in. Streamlines the process for them I guess. So don't get demoralised if it's a while before you hear anything!

I am so confused as to what I put in my PS and what to put in the work exp section. My PS is basically full so I've gone into more detail about my student associate scheme placement in the work exp section. Do you think this is ok?

On the GTTR website it says this:
We ask you to provide details of any previous work experience with dates and information about your current job, if you have one. If you have taken part in the TDA-funded Student Associates Scheme, you should provide details, describing your experience and referring to any documentation arising from your placement.

Also... for my second reference, do you think it will be ok to put down my mentor from the student associate scheme? Obviously she only saw me for the 3 weeks of my placement but I don't know who else to put.

You only have 20 lines in the work exp section - it is literally only enough room to write date/name of placement/one line about what you did, depending on how much work exp you've done.

As for your second referee - I think this would be fine, as long as you've out your personal tutor from your current university as your primary referee (or someone similar).

Hope this helps!

20 lines is plenty for what I have written so far... I have mentioned most work experience in my statement, i.e. my mentoring and summer school work. Then I put my retail work (part time job) and SAS placement in my experience section.. and then specific dates of my mentoring and summer schools. Because it does say in the guidance to put details of your experiences on the SAS

That's the kind of thing you'd probably mention in your PS anyway (like what you did, experiences, observations etc) - I think they want you to put details of any certificates or anything you got for it? I think as long as you've included all info you want to include about your work exp, you should be okay

Thank you, fingers crossed for everyone on this thread

It says when you send off your application that you will receive a welcome letter from GTTR which will contain a personal ID so you can track your responses! I'm just really impatient, I'm sure it will come soon lol. I haven't received post for days anyway...!

Hows your application going?

Oh...I have a welcome not when I log in with my personal I'd on, it's labelled as "welcome" on the buttons at the top.

I've sent mine to my tutor now, so can't do anything else with it - just waiting for my reference and then I can send it off, I'm so excited! lol

When you email them via GTTR for their reference, they will be able to view your whole application

How do we know when the referee has done their part? Do we get an email or should we just keep logging into gttr and checking?

You'll get an email. One to say they have agreed to be your referee and another to say they have provide a reference.

So excited I got a call from UEA today saying that they want to interview me and will call soon with a date when they have sorted it out! Didn't expect to hear anything this soon.

I have applied - in order - to;
UEA
Manchester
Birmingham
Liverpool Hope

All for Secondary Mathematics

Haven't even had my welcome letter from GTTR yet!
