Looks like i'll be doing an Access course starting later this Year, but my question is would it be acceptable to do this course and wait an additional year before going to University? Because ideally I would like to do this course to the best of my ability now whilst working part time, and then save as much money as physically possible for the next 12 months working full time so I don't need to take as many loans and incur more debt than I have to.

Would applying for Universities the Year after finishing an access course look bad for any reason? Or is it something that's really not an issue?

I'm planning on doing the same. I don't think I'm gonna defer a place and apply in the autumn, I'm just gonna wait for the year after - hopefully already having our qualification will actually put us in an even better position.

Hi all,
I am doing my Access course and would like to go to Uni to do midwifery but I am struggling with Health Studies and can't seem to know how to research and what material to use.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Hello! I've decided after several years out of education and subsequent jobs that have led me to this point.. I want to study law. After looking into universities that specialise in this subject, I came across LSE and decided this is the one for me! Working my way backwards from there it seems I need to follow a route similar to yourself and I'm looking for advice on a good access course in law or at least related to in order to apply for LSE on completion. Would you be kind enough to provide any advice on the best access course for this? I plan to call and ask their requirements and who they accept the access courses from but I'm currently in Australia and the time difference is inconvenient! Thank you in advance for any guidance! Jess
I knkw you posted this almost 6 years ago now. But 6 years later and I am in EXACTLY THE same boat as you! :P I keft school and did a Btec course in professional cookery and I wanted to get more of a chance to going to uni and much more option rather than just doing cooking SO I want to take Acess next year. I would live to now go wall worked out for yoy many years down the line.
