No, Newcastle med school joined Armstrong College (Durham) to serve as the college of medicine, and formed Kings College. Kings College became Newcastle University (not just the medical school). I don't think that just because it had Durham in the title then it would be owned by Durham.

From what I can tell from talking to Australians, Its basically the same as England over there, but warmer, more liberal and nicer in general
