Welcome to the University of Durham forum: where prospective and current students can discuss everything from the differences between colleges to the nightlife, an abundance of Rahs to the Stockton campus.
Hi there, I enquired about AES not working and it will not be going live for this cycle of students until 1st October.

Another thing - Durham took agggges for most people for offers, so be prepared to wait. I can't remember the exact date of my offer but it was something like Feb/March.
Gaaahh I know that I'll be so gutted when I get rejected from Durham haha. I'm trying to convince myself that I want to go to my other choices just as much... but it just isn't working.

Haha thanks I don't like disappointment, so I'm not getting my hopes up too much, plus I'm applying for Combined Honours (quite competitive). But that did actually give me a slight confidence boost It's now your fault if I don't get in.

I am not really sure about Durham. I love the course, but its just so far away from home and I'm not sure about applying to a university I haven't seen.

I'm doubting my application to Van Mildert.
I'm sending it on friday, but I think i want to live on the Bailey, rather than the Hill.
What are the chances of getting pooled if i apply to Castle?
I probably wont get in (or will i? grades on my page, ps an references are fine)
If Castle reject me, which is quite likely, will they place me elsewhere?
Hatfield, Chads or Cuths stick out to me also, but the idea of sharing a room terrifies me. How likely is it?

I'm so confused
Chances of being pooled are pretty high, if you aren't let in you'd be assigned to a 'less competitive' college (I got redirected to Hild Bede ). I have no idea about probability of sharing a room but it is a possibility wherever you go, and lots of people say it's awesome so I wouldn't let that worry you too much.

A vast majority of student bedrooms will have shared bathrooms. If that is a big issue for you then definitely apply to a college where you can specify en-suites (I don't know which are but I know at least Cuth's and I assume the modern ones are).
You would find out what college you were assigned to when you get an offer so it's not too long before you find that out (though Durham is known to be slow with offer making).
