I was in exactly the same position for maths last year, i had a low C at the end of AS. This year after doing 2 retakes (1 in jan, 1 in july), i brought it round to get a decent A in A2 this year. Work hard, knuckle down, and choose your retakes carefully, and its more than possible. If you want to ask anythink else, then just quote me and i will get back to you. Good luck.
I got a C at AS maths last year, retook C2 and D1 to get an A at AS and ended up with an A overall at A-Level
so yes, it is possible
and yes i was like you and didnt put 100% effort in the first year. then in the second year i put a lot more effort in and past papers helped the most, imo
i just wanted to know if it is possible to get an C in AS and boost it to an A overall in A2
got two A's and two C's
got the two C's in Maths and Physics
In maths, got C in all modules D1, MPC1, MPC2
the problem was i didnt put 100 percent in revising...do u think i should resit two
in physics got a B in the mechanics module, B in the practical assessment and a D in Electrons, photons...module
any advice would be greatly appreciated
Revise, revise, revise. And then revise some more. I got a very low C in AS and got it up to a very high A in A2. Do your resits in January rather than the summer if you can, other wise you end up sitting ridiculous amounts of exams at the end of the year and put too much work on yourself.
I was on a middling C for History at AS. Resat one of my AS modules and got full marks, resat another and scraped an A on that one, then scraped As on the other exams, and managed to get myself an A overall

so what exam did you resit in jan and june
i am thinking of resitting D1 and MPC1 in january making a total of 5 exams i will be doing (3 of which i have to do and are not resits but this doesnt take into account possibly resitting a physics exam which would make 6)

I did different modules to you, but i resit M1 in jan. First time i got 37/100 on it, on the resit i got 90/100. so that was . On top of that in jan i had 1 biology, S1 maths, and 1 chemistry to do. so 4 in all. but 5/6 won't be too bad, its nothing compared to the june/may exams
Then in may/june i resit C2, first time i got 68/100, and then resit i got 90/100, again . I also had 12 other exams to do in may/june
I had a middle C in biology, and got 280 UMS for the AS resit and full UMS in two of the main A2 paper, so solid A. Of course it's doable, you just need to work quite hard.
I got a C at AS for Chemistry, worked really hard with resits (think I ended up doing them all again), and got an A, 520/600 UMS. If you still got synoptic this year you can retake alot then cause you'll have to go over it all anyway.
the thing about all of this in general is when it comes to predictions i am only gonna get predicted a B (only one grade up) which is a bit of a bummer.
I am not sure whether or not to apply to a uni that needs higher grades requirements (only one grade higher).....has anyone everydone that
