What are some good History books worth reading?

Do you know any History books worth reading that will help me before i go to university next year? So far i have read In Defence of History by Evans and The Birth of The Modern World by C.A. Bayly.

I am particularly interested in:

The Cold War
The Third Reich
Chinese, Japanese and just generally Asian history
Crusades

You could always try Kissinger's Diplomacy, although it is an absolute beast it does provide a good insight into American Policy in the Cold War; as does Rise to Globalism by Ambrose & Brinkley.

R J Evans has written a mountain of books about the Third Reich, as have many other Historians, most of which are considered to be very good, so take your pick.
