You should know from basic GCSE fractions that
35 \frac{3}{5} divided by 59 \frac{5}{9}
is the same as
35 \frac{3}{5} multiplied by 95 \frac{9}{5}

So your problem can be rewitten as

4x+83 \frac{4x +8}{3} X 4x23x10 \frac{4}{x^2 -3x -10}

Factorise the algebra and cancel things down and you should find your solution

It'd help if you factorised 4x+8 and x²-3x-10... then the division becomes much easier, since the top and bottom have a common factor.

thanks but how can you times fractions like that

times two fractions you just times the tops and times the bottoms. This is GCSE stuff and so I recommend you ask your teacher - you need to have really solid understanding of this and doing so will make the next 2 years miles easier.

Try to remember to say multiply rather than times. To answer questions on algebraic fractions, you need to understand the rules of adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing fractions (particularly cross-multiplying to find a common denominator) and you need to be able to factorise linear and quadratic terms.

It is not needed for this particular question. Usually cross multiplying is used for when you have

stuffmorestuff=differentstuffextrastuff\frac{stuff}{morestuff} = \frac{different stuff}{extrastuff}

and then you cross multiply to get rid of the fractions.

Mr M was encompassing the whole of Algebreic fractions in his post.

What did you get when you factorised

4x+83 \frac{4x +8}{3} X 4x23x10 \frac{4}{x^2 -3x -10}

?
