Out of interest, how much is/was your college accommodation per term? I'm having trouble working out mine per term from the data sheet on the website :s-smilie:
I'm not at Cambridge but my brother is - he pays £1190 a term. That's Peterhouse if that helps at all.

It massively depends on your college. My room at Clare this year will be costing me £788 a term.

It's usually between £600 and £1200 depending on college and quality of room. I guess that doesn't help much.

In terms of payment methods, not all colleges accept credit/debit cards. Most just accept cheque or bank transfer, AFAIK.
You can pay by cash at Clare if you want. Some colleges also have chip and pin. Bank transfer is most standard though.
Or cheque, I'm sure someone will now prove me wrong, but so far everywhere I've heard of takes cheques.
