Bowel cancer?

[I'd like to start off by warning you my post is a bit graphic, so apologies]

Hi all, I'm 19 years old (M) and I suffer from a lot of health anxiety. The other day I was talking to someone with bowel cancer and their symptoms seemed to match mine very well, which has made me very nervous and scared. For about the past week I've been fairly constipated, wanting to go to the loo, only to find that nothing/ very little would come out. After a while of trying I'd get diarrhoea, I'd think I'd finished, then I'd need to go again. This has been happening for the past few days.

A year ago I also noticed fresh red blood in the toilet a couple of times. Since then, there's been no blood.

Are these the signs for bowel cancer? I've googled it and it seems to match :frown: I don't want to go to the doc as I've been going fairly frequently to see him about other health problems that I thought I was having and he may think I'm wasting his time.

Any advice/ reassurance would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

You're ******** blood?

Go to a doctor man, don't ask bloody TSR!
Do i have cancer? my options are...

1 - Go to the doctors who are medically trained and can refer you onto specialists
2 - Ask a load of jumped up students on an internet forum..

Seriously...
It's the signs of irritable bowel syndrome.... don't worry yourself, just see a doc
Hmmm visiting the GP to get the issued sorted or posting it on TSR and expecting us to know = I know which option I would take!!!
Don't really know myself. I had something similar a few months back, there was some blood presumably on the tissue after wiping once or twice. After that moment for the next few weeks I ate some healthier foods and I've never had it again either. I sometimes suffer from constipation, but I think it's more to do with my rubbish diet more than anything else more serious.

If the blood was a year ago and it was bowel cancer, you'd probably be dead by now. Stop worrying.

Thanks for your replies. The blood was about a year ago, but since then it's been okay. I'm afraid of going to see the doc as I only went to see him last week because I was having palpitations :frown: Could these symptoms be down to anxiety and worrying too much?

I used to think I was having a heart attack sometimes as my heart would suddenly start beating really fast, I would feel dizzy, vision went funny, difficulty breathing etc - I haven't had it for a while but I think it was psychosomatic (i.e. worrying too much)
