Re: Maths Uni ChatWait for a couple of people to drop out, they'll have plenty of rooms after a month or so(Original post by Swayum)
Nah, screw that man, I'm switching rooms ASAP. LSE has ridiculous policies with regards to switches though but sooner or later. Freshers week/fortnight will probably be shared though

Re: Maths Uni Chat
Apparently I'll be studying maths at either Cambridge or Oxford, and it's not Oxford. I'm nonchalantly indifferent to most first term topics, though I'm least indifferent to analysis and groups (do we even do groups?). What I'm looking forward to most is a renaissance of pastimes and being in a semi-permanent state of inebriation.

Re: Maths Uni ChatYep. We don't do Analysis until the second term, though.(Original post by Glutamic Acid)

Re: Maths Uni ChatTbh GA, I always assume you're in a state of inebriation. It helps me understand you better.(Original post by Glutamic Acid)

Re: Maths Uni Chat
I'm a bit ill as everything is spinning around. But, I will add everyone name and probably swayum. What about maths and physics students? isn't that really a physics student.
About what am I most looking forward to study. I guess that would be algebra and probably some group theory. What I'm least looking forward to is linear algebra. -
Re: Maths Uni ChatOh, pity. Though I suppose a lot of universities don't do it until the second year.(Original post by Hashshashin)
Yep. We don't do Analysis until the second term, though.
I wish. "(Original post by elsa_89)

Re: Maths Uni ChatYou mean lets discuss having a meet-up and not actually have the meet-up. I doubt this will ever happen. Everyone lives to far away from each other.(Original post by SimonM)
Might I suggest that this is the right place to discuss a meet-up for mathmos at some point over the coming year. I've heard mutterings of one, but it'd be good to think about something more concrete.
I got the closest one to the bar
At least it gives you a friend straight away (trying to look on the bright side)
