Fearing spiders is different from fearing and labelling 2 ethnic groups and a religion but I do get what you mean.
I guess maybe I'm just different. I mean I got bit by a dog once and after I would brick myself whenever I saw one but slowly I came to realise my fear of every single dog was irrational. I live in an area that is generally considered the biggest ******** known to man so have in effect 'been there and done that'
I suppose maybe that's why I'm judging so harshly either that or I'm just a cold hearted bitch :p

no it's not. The two subjects are completely different however the fear and labelling them is not. You don't just fear/label things for no reason. Something happens and you associate it with that for however long until you stop associating it with something bad - which isn't as easy as walking away from the problem.

Yes you do. I fear spiders for no reason. They have never actually done anything to me but I'm still scared of them. The second bit I agree with and have said that but my opinion is that slowly the intensity of that fear or association that he made because of his experience should decrease(however slowly but still somewhat) esp since he's moved out and now experienced the other side of Birmingham and the other side of Asian Blacks and Muslims not wanting to smash his face in.

This happens in any area that is populated by students. Students tend to rent in cheap areas where chavs live as well. It just so happens that the chavs you had to deal with are the asian and black variety. However, there are some council estates that have mainly white chavs pulling the same stunts.

Moral of my post. It's not a racial issue. Just select your living area with care. There are affordable student digs in places like erdington, gravelley hill, small heath, stockland green etc where you can live without fear of chavs. Even some areas of perry bar are ok like near great barrr. Or better still, move to great barr or kingstanding.... The options are endless. As my dad used to say, you get what you pay for. If you are paying low rent, expect to live a low rent life.

Look into ethnic disproportionality in crime and come back to the thread. You seem to be implying every group commits crime exactly proportional to their population percentage chunk.
