Hello again.

Boreal = taiga = coniferous forest

Quite different from temperate deciduous forests and tropical rainforests.

I think that boreal is temperate coniferous

That's wrong. Boreal is coniferous and found at latitudes of 60 degrees N and higher, until you get into tundra.

Temperate's what you get in S.Europe.

I think that boreal is temperate coniferous:

With forests you've got the main types and then you get temperate and tropical

1) coniferous
2) Deciduous
3)Rainforests

can you enlighten me about anyother important stff i'm missnig out on?

There's no such thing as a temperate coniferous forest. It's temperate deciduous, or coniferous.

Um... mainly my class notes. I've got textbooks like Waugh, but they're a bit rubbish.

No!
3 types of forest in the world:
Coniferous (also known as boreal or taiga)
Temperate deciduous
Tropical rainforest
Can you straighten this out for me please
My revision book has got 'temperate deciduous woodland' and 'temperate coniferous (boreal) forest'
So is this incorrect
Phil - ignore me

Yeah. Coniferous forest isn't temperate. It's found at latitudes much higher than that!

They use temperate because deciduous woodland is found at temperate latitides.

Anyway, yes, those three names are fine.
so...
rainforests = tropical
deciduous = temperate
coniferous = cold to tundra
