If i have a Level 3 BTEC National Certificate in Engineering, but no A level in maths will it be hard for me catch up in uni, the course i would want to do would be mechanical engineering or should i just do a foundation course in uni ?....

This is probably not in the right forum, but I would suggest contacting your university first. Your BTEC has probably given your more subject specific information than any A level route, but that does not mean they will not want you to do some sort of remedial maths classes; I had to do some when I was on a computing course too. I would not worry about it though as the only likely difference it will make is undertaking classes before your degree starts, or having to take a mandatory unit or two in your first year. The worst case scenario is that they will want you to take a foundation year first, but use this to your advantage - it gives you a full year to engage with what it really means to be at university.
