Compare and Contrast poems?

I am doing AS English Lit and i have to compare and contrasts 2 poems, Ulysses by Alfred Tennyson and Penelope by Carol Ann Duffy but i don't what to write. I keep wanting to write the meaning and structure of each poem but that isn't right :frown:

You could do that as a sort of background (like 1 or 2 sentences in the first paragraph). It will give you a better understanding. Thats what i did when i had to do it... :smile:

Did you do SMILE at GCSE? Structure, Meaning, Imagery, Language and Effect? I don't know if that's advanced enough because I'm still at the GCSE stage, but I guess it helps.
