I personally didnt like it when I went to the open day. The equiptment (phantom heads etc) there seems outdated compared to the ones I have seen at Leeds for example....

Yeah but i haven't been to B'ham so i've no idea what its like...all a bit too risky for me From research i didnt like the course much either and the way the do it....
Anyway Cardiffs pretty much my fave so i'm sticking there

Yup, Leeds are def the most modern and stuff.

They are usually top of the ranks too.

I would say Cardiff is my preferred one but since its dentistry, anywhere would be good as long as i can get in

My dentist went there and told me about it hence why it's meant to be so hard to get into.

Same as Bristol, the lecturer in Cardiff also lectures in Bristol and says they are much better and even the Cardiff students know that.

And just to add, my dentist is like the best dentist I have ever seen. Honestly, so experienced and amazing, hes my inspiration really because nobody in my family did dentistry and he taught me a lot just from work experience.

I've also been going to him my whole life, I eat chocolate, crisps, drink coke and everything...never had a single filling in my life.

My dad's needed his teeth extracted and I saw some on work experience and after talking to the patients including my dad, they couldn't even feel a single thing, he makes it look so easy and comfortable.

I thought root canal treatment required the precision of a mother, my dentist made it look like he was sitting a c1 paper.

And just like me, he's also left-handed. It's harder for us guys because most equipment is right-handed but he's got used to working with both and Birmingham are really good for this.

I am telling you now, their teaching is faultless and Bristol and Leeds are very good too.

If I had the opportunity, in order to make the most of my teaching I would pick one of these universities, however, if I get an offer from Cardiff I will pick that as I know the place really well, it will only be a 15 minute walk to university and financially it will be the best option for me.

Cardiff seems like a popular choice and I don't blame you guys because I've lived here all my life and I know what the clinics are.

But I will tell you that the teaching of Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol and Sheffield is better.

I'm not too fussed about night-life and stuff but the others probably have better night-life, it's just a city that I know very well and will be beneficially to me financially so I would firm Cardiff.

Are Cardiff and Birmingham PBL? Did you learn anything about how they many applicants they recieve each year too? and how many places?

Wouldnt you want to move away from home though? thats the one thing i cant wait for uni about

No, both are very clinical.

Birmingham are more clinical though, one of the most I believe.

I saw all kinds of treatment, if you can name a treatment, I have seen it.

Cardiff recieve in excess of 2000 applicants, approx 2400-2500 and make 180 offers, 68 places in total.

Not too sure about Birmingham but I think they are less competitive.

And it's more of a financial reason and the fact that my parents are growing very old. Brother has moved out, new life and stuff which is good, I would like to do that but I like the city I live in so I don't mind staying. He did prefer the city he moved to.

Yup.

Crowns were common, veneers I saw a few. Braces I saw the the orthodontic clinic.

Wait, it might have been 1500 not 2500, can't remember but it is a lot.

I heard from an open day and talking to the admissions tutors.

Also, I have like 75 prospectuses in my house because i've been to like all of them with this scheme I was on.

The night life is what i was most worried about for kings to be honest, but that sounds great,

how did you find out that newcastle rank the top 100? do you roughly know what the cut off point too? (its my first choice )

And what gcse grades do kings like as well?
