The Official Facebook and Social Networking thread

The Tech forum is getting full of questions and threads about Facebook, Twitter etc. and I dislike clutter. Please use this thread for questions and discussion about any social networking sites - problems logging on, questions about privacy etc.

Default facebook virus!
 
Help please. basically i went on facebook today to find that i had messaged 18 people about some weight loss thing, and that my status had changed and stuff. noone else has access to my laptop. how can i stop it happening again?

Uninstall Fanchecker and untag all the photo in regards to Fan Checker.

Change your password and make it strong.

Edit: seems there are further troubles for Facebook this evening. Lots of blank screens.

It is nothing to do with Fan Checker.

I haven't been able to log on all day. At first it was logging me in incredibly slowly, only to show half the page. Now it just says the page can't be displayed. A whole 24hours since I was on there, maybe this is a good thing!

That site lies - it says Facebook is working for everyone, when it clearly isn't.

It's working on my mobile phone but not on my computer. My mum switched to her dongle stick to use the internet and it's working on that, but not with our home BT connection. Very odd.
