Default Advanced Higher English Textual Analysis Poetry

On Thursday I have a textual analysis NAB on poetry, but I have been unable to get to many classes and we do not have past papers. So, my quesiton is, do they just give you a poem and a question and you have to write on it? How does it work?
Any help/tips are GREATLY appreciated...

You do get a question which covers what you should be analysing/evaluating.

It is sort of doing Higher English Close Reading without the actual questions. But those type of questions you normally would have gotten.

Talk about the imagery, word choice etc

wait for someone doing Textual Analysis to answer

should it have an introduction and should you put in style like in a higher essay? i.e. "Woodsworth uses this harrowing image to bring connotations of death and destruction, thus enhancing the readers insight into the theme of futility."

is it in the higher format of essays (i.e. introduction, then a bunch of points, followed by the conclusion)

It's not an essay question, it's the same kind of format as the close reading exam at higher. Except, presumably, on poetry.

I think we got a texual analysis NAB at higher too?

this is wrong. the TA is an essay quuestion, just in case anyone were to read this and get the wrong idea. you are given an extract of a text or a poem etc and then there is ONE question

Textual Analysis at AH is alright once you get into it. I've done two now, and it's not too bad (however, I haven't had them back yet!). Just like writing an essay on a text you've studied, in a shorter time. I like it.

Are they meant to be about 800 - 1000 words, that's how long mine were, but I didn't actually check.
