Why doesn't the People's Republic leave Taiwan alone?

If the Taiwanese want to be a sovereign state (which is recognised by all countries in the world, and only is not recognised by most since they don't want the People's Republic as an enemy), then why doesn't the People's Republic stop bothering them?

Maybe Taiwanese are Han Chinese, like most in the People's Republic are. But so what? I am not seeing a rational reason for Taiwan to be bullied by China.
How are they being bullied?
The People's Republic targets weapons at them and threatens them with invasion, since they reckon Taiwan should be part of their country.

China aren't stupid enough to invade Taiwan.
It's really long story. As everyone know, GDP per capita of Taiwan is 5 times than mainland China. Standard living in Taiwan is higher than China. Especially, there is no huge gap in different between rich and poor.
On the other hand, China is huge country and has second largest economy in world. That's what we need to figure it out. China has demonstrate that china are developing sharply i.e. economy, infrastructure, education and even politic. China is likely to try to get out of small well in order to reach thier goals. Many years ago, human right in china is always a hot debate. Because china just want to control all the things happening in china, from countryside to city, from media to internet. This is disadvantage of developing china. People don't have chances to speak out their own idea, wish.
Back in Taiwan affair, certainly everyone in this forum have to agree with me that Taiwan don't run in the way as china do. if someone interested and forcus on taiwan economy, they easily recognise that annual income of taiwan is much higher and stable than china as well as education, politic. Therefore there is no point to say that taiwan depend on china economy, military or anything like what most people say to me. That doesn't make sense. Taiwan can do on their own. Moreover, they can do better than china do. Taiwan deserved to be sovereign country. They began from zero. We know the beginning is always most difficult step and decisive factor to have suscess in the future.

The PRC Chinese rather do leave the ROC Chinese alone most of the time. And actually, the ROC Chinese don't want to be a sovereign state (at least not as Taiwan). They want to be the sovereign state of all of China.

Because the Chinese see them as an integral part of china, simply split politically due to a civil war. Just like West Germany wanted to integrate East Germany but couldnt due to the cold-war.

China actually poses little to no direct military threat to Taiwan, if you look closely Taiwan would more than likely be able to hold off any Chinese invasion if not stop it before it could begin.

Chinas claim to Taiwan is based on the threat of force, but realistically everyone knows that wont happen.
