Examples of different types of reinforcement

The SLT assumes that learning can be a result of direct reinforcement and indirect, or vicarious reinforcement.

I know what vicarious reinforcement is, becuase it has the definition and example in my book.

I'm guessing direct reinforcement is the behaviourist approach, so directley giving a person or an animal a treat for good behaviour.

However, wouldn't indirect and vicarious reinforcement be the same thing?

Could someone please explain this to me,
thanks

EDIT- and also, are mediational processes the same thing as mediating cognitive factors?

It says:

SLT assumption: mediational processes, which lie between stimulus and response, influence our behaviour.

Key term- mediating cognitive factors: the mental processes that occur in-between a stimulus and response that influence our behaviour.
