I completed the survey, it doesn't seem real though because it doesn't say my answers went through or anything

I thought it'd be easier to do here, since I can't give the background answering closed questions!

I'm studying for A2s at the moment, but I need some specialist books for my Extended Project (Medical Law and Ethics) which my college won't order in because they'll only be used infrequently, if at all, after I've finished my project. No library in the area has them. I also need a book about the LNAT admissions test, but they refuse to get that, despite its great reviews, since "it hasn't been updated since 2005".

If there was a site which enabled me to buy the books cheaply from other students, I'd definitely consider it. The LNAT one's £25 and I'll only use it once, so my only option is to pay £4 for my local library to order it in.

I doubt I'd sell my own books on the site, since I tend to keep them for reference (and for my younger sister to use - that's what's happened to my GCSE books). But yeah, I think in theory it's a good idea. However, it looks like students on similar sites tend to set the prices only £1/£2 below the cost of a new book, which kinda defeats the object (although I can understand why they do it).

Anyway, hope this is of some help. Apologies if you needed something more "discrete"! :s-smilie:

No that's great - thanks for the answer

The beauty of an auction is that if the price is too high, no one will buy, right? So students who put prices just a tad lower might be forced to rethink!

Whoever put "Birmingham" as the answer to question two, you deserve rep for making me giggle.

I like the 'I will aim to rep you', like you'll try but might accidentally miss and hit report or something.
