I would disagree...some of the styles i've seen look about 20+ years out of date and totally don't suit the person.
EDIT: South Asians I mean, East Asians i've seen with some cool cuts...though when you start dyeing your hair 3 shades of pink and green that starts to get uncool.

I think they need to grow out of the anime personally. The hair is for cartoon characters and not for real people, period.
