Hardest A-levels
Discussion for A-Level students and for those choosing their A-Level subjects.

Re: Hardest A-levelsWth @ your UCAS? 2 Medicine choices and 3 English/History choices? How do you even write a personal statement for that ??(Original post by WhereIsMyMind)
It's all relative I suppose.
One of the hardest A Levels for me is/has been Biology. But yet Chemistry is renowned for being harder, yet I find it a lot easier. I think this proves one of two things, the level of difficulty depends on the individual, or I'm a failure!

Re: Hardest A-levels
Boo-yah.
Loadsa you said that Maths, F maths, Physics and Chemistry are the hardest a-levels. And they're the ones I'm taken ;D ;D ;D <-- sarcasm. But tbh, if I took art or english for example I'm going to find those the hardest because there not subjects which I'm talented at it whereas I am talented at Maths & Sciences so it makes sense for me to choose them rather than what may be considered to be easier a-levels which I would find hard. So what I'm trying to say is that it varies from person to person so think of where your skills lie when making the decision. But universities do like maths & sciences. (8 -
Re: Hardest A-levelsTotally agree and understand.(Original post by ticktockharlequin)
Latin.
Oh. Dear. God.
Latin. And there's so much work, and it's all so hard, and it eats up all my free time and then my teacher shouts at me and tells me I'm a failure and a time-waster and it's so bloody difficult and aaargh and...
</nervous breakdown>
*stares at fiendishly difficult untouched comprehension in schoolbag* I spend most of my free time revising vocab and learning new vocab. I'll know over 2500 latin words by the time I complete my A level, or at least I should. D:
ETA: IMO Chemistry is hard, physics is hard, biology is easier than the other two.Last edited by HighSkies; 05-10-2009 at 22:09. -
Re: Hardest A-levelsThis. Most of the subjects are subjective. Native speakers will find languages the easiest. People who enjoy/like a subject are less likely to find it hard. Further maths can be the hardest subject for some and easiest for others. There aren't really hard a levels, they're all hard in their own way, some through effort and/or raw talent and others with intelligence.(Original post by SmileyGurl13)

Re: Hardest A-levels
I can only really say the ones I'm taking as I don't have experience of others.
Music A level is verrrrrry hard. GCSE is a complete doss but A level... oh dear...
German is hard. The workload is very large and the precision needed is quite annoying.
Literature isn't very hard for me, it's just taking time to do the essays and stuff, not actually difficult though.
Biology isn't too bad content wise so far, but the mark schemes are very particular in what they want from you which is very frustrating.
