Hello everyone

I have just been invited to a 'super centre' for RBS next week. Does anybody else have an invite or know what one is? the guy from HR said it involves a numerical and verbal test and a competency intervies but couldnt tell me anything else. He said after the super centre its a full day assessment centre start of November.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

May I know which division you apply for?

I just received an email from RBS in 11/09, saying:

"After reviewing your CV and your responses to our online assessment, we are pleased to inform you that you have met our requirements at the first assessed stage.

We have received a large number of very high quality applications, which we are reviewing before finalising whom we wish to invite to the next stage. We remain interested in your application, and will contact you in due course to confirm how we wish to proceed.
"

I applied for corporate banking which comes under Global Banking I got that email on the 15th apparantly according to the HR guy they have finalised the AC dates this week so people are finding out some time this week. what did you apply for?

i got the same invite too but the HR said he wld call me back tomorrow. I applied for corporate banking and apparently it is not under the GBM but under other RBS programmes. I am not a lover of numerical tests. when is this super centre date? and are calculators allowed? I just found out that if one is unsuccessful in the tests, u wldnt be going through to the next stage which involves the competency interviews.....

Out of sheer morbid curiosity, you are 100% aware that RBS corporate banking is more or less unrelated to investment banking correct? Because your name includes IBD, but corporate banking is completely different.

yeah i know ive just applied for it as a back up as rbs have a leveraged finance team in corporate banking in london who work with corporate finance at rbs so decided its a good chance to network if i dont get into ibd

The guy at HR told me it is under GBM this year and has not been previously even though on the website it states otherwise. All the documents I have been sent for the AC relate to GBM policies on expenses reimbursment, travel etc. i currently work for RBS and Leverage Finance (which is part of Corporate Banking) comes under GBM which is where the majority of last years graduates got placed. How did you find out that if you dont pass the tests you dont do the interview? he told me you have to do them all over a 3 hour period

well i got the information from the internet. If u google rbs - super centre, there is a link that says 'RBS Careers Day 2009 - Welcome to the University of Warwick'. that's where i got the info on the tests and interview.....do u have any idea if calculators will be allowed?

i doubt calculators will be allowed but maybe take one incase you can. what day is your interview?

Does anyone know if this relates to RBS GBM Operations?

If so, does anyone know when you will hear back about first round interviews if the online questionnaire was completed last Friday?

Is there a super day for Operations?

my interview is next thurs and the HR guy is not sure if calculators are allowed buh he told me to take one incase......wen is urs?

Mine is next Thursday too but in the afternoon thats why i dont understand how they can cut people at lunch time if you dont pass the test? I'll prob take a calculator too is yours near aldgate thats where mine is?

yh mine is near aldgate in the afternoon...well i really dnt knw y dey wld cut some peeps off too..am sure dat stf i read on the web abt cutting of pple dsnt really apply to this assessment.....nyway goodluck!

ok so rbs grad trading "assessment day" held this week was a first-round of interviews/tests with a final round to come later this month. about 20 were invited. no sales applicants there so looks like it was just for trading.

I have not heard anything back from RBS yet regarding my application.

I have applied for UKCB with a 1st round interview which went very well.
